25.01.2022 Good News Story, Adelaide River Activities Centre, ‘Keeping Things Moving in the Adelaide River Region’. Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation’s Activities Supervisor, Mark Hay, recently completed a four-day training course in Heavy Rigid driving skills. The course, which was facilitated by Charles Darwin University, provided Mark with knowledge and practical experience in the legal aspects of driving Heavy Rigid vehicles, but also WHS procedures and securing loads. The week culmin...ated in Mark being awarded the Heavy Rigid licence. Ironbark’s Adelaide River Project Coordinator, Nicole Webster, said she is very pleased that Mark has attained this licence as there are significant logistical requirements in moving stock and equipment to and from the Adelaide River Region. Nicole is also happy to see staff members making the effort to improve their skill sets and increase their contribution to the team and the outcomes for the site and the organisation as a whole. Mark says that he really enjoys driving the larger vehicles and is looking forward to more opportunities to do so and has already driven Ironbark’s large Fuso tip truck to collect backfill materials for the irrigation project currently underway at Adelaide River site. 22.01.2022 A couple of months ago staff from Aboriginal Bush Traders approached the Ironbark Holtze Community Development Program team to see if they would construct some green ant light sculptures so that ABT located in the historical Lyons Cottage could participate in and support the Bruce Munro Tropical Lights Exhibition due to open in the Darwin CBD in November. Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation are really excited to present this amazing result which was produced by Daleighla Brock a...nd Ben Worthington and overseen by Ironbark Activity Supervisor Damian Kimber and Ironbark Project Coordinator Neale Wigney. This project wouldnt have been possible without the advice and expertise of Aus Voltage Electrical who supplied and installed all electrical items required and the Holtze install team including Jake, Jason, Daleighla and Stuart. Thanks also goes to Lyla and Matty at ABT for the original idea. Go and check out our illuminated green ants located in the gardens of Aboriginal Bush Traders as you wander through this world first city wide Tropical Light exhibition. Enjoy!
