16.01.2022 Lets look at SUGAR What happens when you eat sugar.... In the body, sugar feeds off sugar in other words, it creates a cycle that causes you to crave more and more. This is when youre consuming sugar from simple carbs. Thats why you might crave simple carbs like pasta, pastries, and white rice. If you eat these types of foods frequently, they convert to sugar very quickly and your body demands more. ... The body naturally wants to maintain a state of balance the actual term is homeostasis so if youre someone who is constantly craving meat and salty foods, thats whats happening, your body or brain is trying to balance something out. If you eat a lot of sweets, you might then find yourself wanting to eat something salty immediately afterward. Sound familiar? Dont worry, youre not alone. This is a bad habit to develop since it generally involves consuming too much sugar, followed by too much salt, and then too many calories, as well.

12.01.2022 Muscular Trivia The hardest working muscle in your body is the heart. The heart pumps 7200 litres of blood per day! The largest muscle in your body is the gluteus maximus (buttocks)... The smallest muscle in your body is found in the ear (the smallest bones are found there too!) There are some muscles you can control and some you cant. Muscles you can control include the ones you use to lift weights, smile, run, etc. But the muscles that help you breathe, digest food, and help your heart beat are involuntary and outside your control. There are 600 muscles in the body The strongest muscle, based on size, which can withstand on average 90kg of pressure, is the muscle in your jaw Muscles make up 40-50% of your total body weight The busiest muscles, that never gets a break, are the muscles that control your eyes. One hour of reading requires 10,000 coordinated muscle movements for your eyes. Most of the heat produced in the body comes from muscle contraction. Muscle movement accounts for almost 82% of your total body heat.

If you do this, your withdrawal symptoms wont last as long as if you were to gradually taper your sugary food intake. You could also eat more protein while doing this, which will help you feel full, as will eating foods that are high in fiber like beans and vegetables. These types of foods will also work to maintain blood sugar levels so you dont get headaches or feel nauseous.... Hydrate More Drinking more water will help you feel full, and you know thirst often masks itself as hunger in the body. Sip some water before grabbing for a snack as chances are you need more hydration. Use Stress Reduction Techniques Lastly, if youre in the midst of a stressful situation at home or at work and thats the time when you usually grab for something sweet to make you feel better, find more healthy ways to de-stress. Go for a walk, exercise, go to the gym, get together with a friend who makes you laugh, listen to music, or just sit for a moment and breathe. When withdrawing from sugar, you might initially feel more tired than normal. This is extremely common and the best way to handle it is just embrace it. Go to bed earlier than you normally would if youre feeling extra tired. This is normal and temporary as you detox, and its okay! In fact, it will actually help because not getting enough sleep contributes to sugar cravings. This is partly because youre not thinking as clearly as you would if you got your 7 to 8 hours and you want a quick reward to help you feel less tired, less grumpy, and give you an energy boost.

07.01.2022 For a deep and refreshing sleep at night, the practice of breathing has a calming effect on the nervous system. This technique may also be used during the day if you wish to take a nap or need to catch up on rest, or to give your mind and body a time of intentional rest and relaxation. Lie down on a bed or somewhere comfortable and close your eyes. Let your thoughts come and go. Release any and all expectations of what you should feel, or what you should do theres no need ...to try to do anything at all, just allow this time to be whatever it is. When you are ready, focus on your breathing. Breathe in deeply through your nose for the count of 5, hold for 5 seconds and then exhale slowly to the count of 5. Do this several times. Then, let your breathing fall into a natural rhythm.
