25.01.2022 Great feedback from our guests this weekend

23.01.2022 https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_Review-g1060659-d14473 Great feedback from guests who stayed on the long weekend- it was good to be welcoming guests back to Leconfield House and the Hunter Valley.

23.01.2022 Mark and I have just finished four weeks of leave resulting in us staying home for the whole period- not such a problem for us. We have further developed our vegetable garden and orchard which includes bananas, mangoes, pineapples, figs, dragon fruit, pomegranate, loquats, avocados, chocolate Sapir and the usual apples, pears, lemons, oranges and mandarins. It has been interesting the reaction from people- some of this fruit could be questionable to survive in the Hunter Val...ley - we will see!!!! We will need plenty of guests and friends to eat the produce.

23.01.2022 And hopefully the not the too distant future we will start having guests and friends visiting - the ‘green ‘ has returned to the Hunter Valley ( until the next drought)

18.01.2022 Out on a wine and providores tour- it’s a beautiful day to be out and about

11.01.2022 Life is returning after the lockdown of the last couple of months. We have been busy continuing to develop Leconfield House. The wineries and restaurants are opening, we have lit the fire to welcome guests back to Leconfield House and the Hunter Valley.

11.01.2022 Our first weekend welcoming guests after the lockdown of the last couple of months. It is greatly appreciated that they continue to enjoy what we offer

11.01.2022 A great weekend providing a wine tour to our guests last weekend @ Leconfield

05.01.2022 A trip advisor review: Respond The Art of Gracious Hospitality Our first glimpse of Leconfield House was the imposing sight of the grand old manor on the hillside, standing alone above a gorgeous valley. As we turned down the long, gravel driveway and saw a mob of kangaroos grazing under the setting sun, and then were given a wonderful warm welcome in the stunning gardens by Richard and Mark, we knew that we'd come to a special place. We found Leconfield House by chance and v...ery last-minute. It was the first weekend after Covid-19 lockdown that we were allowed to travel and it was hard to find anywhere to stay. How lucky were we that we stumbled upon Leconfield House and that Richard and Mark had availability! There are only four rooms in total and they are all decked out with Victorian charm and great attention to detail but with every mod con a guest might need, including a complimentary iPad to use during your stay. We stayed in one of the two larger rooms that really are big, and we loved it. It was spotlessly clean and we really appreciated the rain shower and the fluffy bath robes and the super comfortable bed. Breakfast is enormous and delicious and served on the enclosed verandah just outside the rooms. Eggs come from their chooks, the honey from their hives, the spearmint for the tea from their herb garden, and the fruit for the juices from their orchard. And Richard bakes all the bread. How about that for self-sufficiency! The views over the valley are absolutely spectacular and in between breakfast courses we enjoyed watching nature unfold outside the window, including the antics of a wedged tail eagle stalking its prey. We also enjoyed chatting with Richard and Mark who are absolutely charming and so entertaining with many great stories about the house and its history and all their wonderful collections. It's a point of pride for them that no guest is served tea in the same teapot during the course of their stay! For dinner on the second night we booked their Victorian dining experience which was a real treat. We were served bubbly and canapés in the parlour in front of a roaring log fire and then led into the dining room, where we were the only two diners that evening. We had a beautiful home-cooked meal with Hunter Valley wine and afterwards we returned to the parlour for port and chocolates. It was a super evening that came with entertaining stories between courses and that made us feel like we were staying with old friends. Richard and Mark were also very helpful in providing maps for getting around and had some good recommendations for wineries. They really put their heart into making their guests feel special and that was really what made the weekend so special for us. This was gracious hospitality at its very best. See more

03.01.2022 Prefacing this as some aren’t aware. I’m a local GP and hospital doctor. Yesterday was a big day for NSW case numbers. We saw multiple NSW cases of COVID in pa...tients who have not travelled overseas and have no confirmed contact with COVID. It is likely there are now those in the community with mild symptoms carrying the illness. The following points are vitally important. 1) Social distancing is still very useful. - keep 1.5m distance from others whilst in public - avoid large gatherings - where possible work from home or have teleconferences 2) Wash your hands. - at least 20 seconds of scrubbing with soap - don’t touch your face if you have touched a surface that hasn’t been disinfected - please don’t panic buy alcohol based hand sanitizer, soap works fine 3) If you have any mild cold and flu symptoms - don’t go to work - don’t send sick kids to school - don’t visit your GP or Emergency without calling first - most people with mild symptoms will not need to present to see a doctor, and can safely rest at home and self isolate until well 4) If you have fever, dry cough, international travel in the last 14 days or contact with a confirmed case of COVID19, please call your GP or Emergency. - DO NOT ATTEND WITHOUT CALLING AHEAD. Multiple infectious disease specialists are raising concerns that government measures are too little at this current time. Italy and France are trying to play catch up, and it looks like Spain might be the next big outbreak location. We don’t have enough ICU beds or ventilators to manage the numbers Italy are seeing. We’ve just had a big weekend of sport, conferences, and other big events. Cases will start to spike soon unless we all take individual action to prevent further spread. Don’t be that person that spreads to 20 other people and overwhelms our health system.

03.01.2022 Additionally we planted over 250 trees which includes irrigation and mulch yet to be spread
