24.01.2022 I am so excited to be heading to the East Coast tomorrow to finalise the last stages of a major property development project. The last nine months have seen me managing a team of engineers, surveyors, civil workers, and various other contractors, and council authorities. It feels fantastic to have reached the final phase with power and telecommunication connection works about to be carried out. I am proud to announce this five lot beach front subdivision almost 100% complete!!

24.01.2022 On Monday the 1 hour Free Parking trial was voted against by Council. Personally, I'm really disappointed Council voted against it. I believe our City needs this initiative implemented urgently. It's time to strongly support our CBD, in particular the desperately struggling retail sector, there are many business owners who are giving it everything they've got and beyond right now just to stay open. I own commercial property in the heart of the CBD and I agree with the 90% of... businesses canvassed who voted in favour of this initiative. If I am elected I'll not sit silently on these issues, and I'm not a quitter. Thank you to Ted Sands, Ian Norton and Rosemary Armitage who voted in favour. Due to conflict of interest Hugh McKenzie was not involved in the debate or part of the vote. Apparently we cannot afford the cost of this trial, but can we afford NOT to?, I'd really appreciate hearing your opinions on this.

23.01.2022 For 5 years I have worked on this, including a 3 year DA approval process which was the first in over 40 years to be granted for an inner CBD development. Next year hopefully it'll be onwards and upwards with construction, and at last reality! My vision, my passion, and so exciting for the heart of our beautiful CBD!

23.01.2022 Coming soon to a letterbox near you, even yours hopefully!

20.01.2022 I'm delighted and encouraged to see so many strong local women putting up their hand to lead our city. Eight women, including myself, are standing as candidates for the upcoming local government election. Only two of the twelve positions within our council were held by women after the last election. I'd like to wish every candidate, male and female, the best of luck. May the right people for the role be chosen as representatives of our community, and hopefully a greater gender balance achieved.

20.01.2022 Here's a link to all the candidate's statements if you'd like to have a read. I wish the very best to all candidates - I know we are all working extremely hard with the very best interests of our beautiful City and community's future at heart. It would be a great privilege and honour to be elected as one of the team!! :-)

18.01.2022 Tasmania ranked 4th in Lonely Planets top 10 regions to visit in the world in 2015!! The global reach of Lonely Planet includes 120 million visitors to it's website each year, brilliant for Tasmania, the publicity our beautiful state will get is too hard to quantify according to Tourism Tasmania. Our future is certainly looking bright, how fortunate we are to live here. I took this photo on my walk/jog through our amazing Gorge last night :-)

17.01.2022 Love this photo, many thanks to my little mate Chad! :-) "Chad enjoyed helping his Toppy Steven Weeks make up the frames for Mandie Austin's signage. So proud of him. Signs are up for all to see. Yay.... Suz Weeks"

16.01.2022 Gotta love Launceston! Happy weekend :-)

15.01.2022 I have met so many truly amazing and inspirational people over this weekend, individuals with so much passion, vision, belief and incredible dedication towards the betterment of our amazing city. Launceston's community spirit is truly unique and special, our future exciting! :-)

14.01.2022 How truly awesome is our Gorge right in the heart of Launceston!

14.01.2022 I really enjoy sharing photographic glimpses of Launceston's beauty around the world via Instagram. IG Tasmania featured this one taken last weekend on a perfect Spring day!

12.01.2022 This is one of my fav places to jog along, walk along, take photos from. Hope you have a great weekend! #beautifullaunceston

12.01.2022 One month ago I announced that I was standing as a council candidate, an exciting and at times very stretching journey immediately begun. I've felt thankful of the genuine support and belief shown in me by so many, I've also met amazing and inspiring people along the way. I've had opportunity to chat with many, I've asked questions, and I've listened as people have shared their concerns, dreams, visions and their hopes of a bright and vibrant future for Launceston. Wow, what ...an amazing community spirit we have here, unique to Launceston I think! I hope that the people of Launceston give me opportunity to become part of a new and exciting team, a diverse team of individuals yes, but united in purpose with the very best interests of our beautiful City and community's future at heart. I'd like to wish all of the candidates well, what an amazing journey this has been, and whatever the outcome for me personally, I truly believe that yes Launceston, our future is bright! Well here we go.. the Ballot Papers are out now, of your support or your consideration of me as your representative on council I am grateful.

11.01.2022 Interested to hear your thoughts on this: The Woolstore, publicly owned and a massive 5000sqm of space, is under threat of demolition very soon, should it go or should it be saved, and why? If you'd like more info, head across to FB page "Adaptive Reuse".

09.01.2022 Here we go.. very first sign going up at Curves.. bit high up there!

07.01.2022 Looking forward to the big game today. Go Hawthorn champs!!!

07.01.2022 Awesome back to back wins for our Tassie Hawks champions!! Brilliant to see Tasmania being promoted around the world too!

05.01.2022 Meeting and spending time with amazing people throughout this journey reminds me again and again why I'm standing as a candidate for council - for people, for community and for our beautiful City. Here I am with my new friend at Ravenswood Neighbourhood House, they do an amazing job in there, I'll be back no matter what the election outcome. Feeling grateful and inspired!

03.01.2022 As a property developer I have for some time now been working on a project in the heart of the City - the redevelopment and expansion of the City Block building, which is anticipated to be a corporate hub of Launceston. The building, and the businesses it houses, are being designed to draw corporates back to the heart of the Launceston CBD. This is just one project, a very small part of the potential I see for reinvigorating Launceston. As an aldermen for Launceston City Cou...ncil I believe it is important to have vision, but more important to listen to the ideas, passions, and needs of the community and to communicate these to other members of Council. Launceston's future growth and prosperity resides in the hands of the people who live here, I see it as my role to listen, share, and facilitate the ideas of our community. We have many creative, passionate, intelligent and innovative thinkers in our City and region, I would like to be their voice and see Council collaborate with them.

02.01.2022 I will miss the trips to my "second office" on the East Coast, but I'm very excited that I will now have more time to focus on pursuing the vision I have for the City Block Corporate Centre and Launceston's vibrant future!
