22.01.2022 When COVID-19 hit, Australian salons were left in limbo by not receiving a government directive to shut down, leaving many confused and scared about whether to ...stay open or close and what safety measures they needed to implement in order to continue trading or re-open. In New Zealand, hairdressing, barbering and beauty was shut down as part of the whole country lock down ordered by Prime Minister Adern. Today we chat to Niq Janes, Chair of NZARH (New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers) and also a salon owner, about how the industry was affected by COVID-19, the shut down (Niq's salon closed for 7 weeks), and business post Coronavirus.
