23.01.2022 Our Cafe at 5.45am with a couple of shy people that we enjoy meeting up with every morning, they finally sat down with 'Maxine' after 2 years....these records need recording lol....blokey blokes....good blokes.

19.01.2022 Contacted recently by a customer to do a care package for their colleague out of Singapore but from the UK, stuck in isolation on Sheraton on the Park...apparently the food is abismal as its 'funded'...his room has no microwave and a bar fridge...the challenge was on...how do you cater to someone for a 'few' days with 'decent' food that cannot be reheated, toasted or kept fresh on a price point that is manageable....(trumpet) because we deserve it...we did do it...and now I may have an opportunity I didn't know was there because that person just gave it to me....thank you to my customer, thank you to my customers colleague in isolation. Its an absolute pleasure to see smiles

18.01.2022 This post actually isn't anything to do with my business, but I feel so strongly about it I'm posting it....I made a personal post about how someone said that because I hadn't travelled I didn't come up to 'par', so my post was about small minded people, what came out of that post though was jaw dropping....because they don't have a voice, many of my people commented on this post "but" said its about children, this abuse is 'also' what I receive as a childless woman...many of... my women followers shared their outrage over bias presented to them of either choosing or not being able to have children....I know right??? How do you go from that to this...but the correlation occurred and I cannot but answer, because this is important and it needs to be out there This is my answer I posted some weeks back on an issue about travel and how I was gobsmacked about the 'tiny' minds....the responses I got actually were in the affirmative of not being able to travel etc, but 'even more so' for the fact that they didn't have children, what I wrote obviously struck a core with people, its turned into child-gate...and I'm horrified yet again...if a woman chooses not to have a child, or if a woman cannot have children, what right do you have if you choose to have children and can have children to vilify these women...shame on you. I can argue politics, earth overpopulation, cultural shift and womens right to choose...but what it comes down to is cultural stigmatism and bias, it makes you feel you are better than them...we are 'better off' adopting the children that get left behind in the hardship and selfishness of our society,at least the women that don't want children are up front about it and the women that can't but want a child are also talking about it...its horrible that those that have children look down on both and say it to these womens faces....wake up. SHAME ON YOU...I am a mother, I do have a child, but it never entered my head that someone that chose not to or couldn't have a child was anyone less than me. Shame on you people that have driven these people to tell me about you. Shame on you

16.01.2022 To everyone in the Sydney area, if you need cleaning done please book Adriana, she has great experience and is very professional...due to this pandemic I was not able to keep her on and she has now subsequently lost her 2nd job as well...as an international student she cannot claim any help from the government and her home country is affected as well so cannot receive any financial help from her family....if you know anyone in Sydney that can book her please contact her on the number advertised

15.01.2022 Lying in wait to be given tomorrow, one of my customers walked on in tears today, it sounds like an internet knee jerk compassion pull, but this is real because I was working and this is my customer....she walked in, the most put together person I know in tears, she just lost 3 friends overnight for different medical reasons and had to put her horse down, so 4 friends, this morning...I can't believe she is here and ordering stuff for herself and colleagues, I'm thinking it's a much needed thing to do considering what has just happened...so these are for her for tomorrow, because everyone grieves differently and we are also her people or else she wouldn't be here. Such an amazing lady

15.01.2022 Update....since Victoria had a spike in cases and then NSW had a small rise, the government has closed borders again and most have delayed return to work...so we have dropped again, but we are still here, still fighting. I just wish that people will 'stop' being selfish about social distancing and theological right speakage and just get with the program of 'staying away' for a small period of time...you are prolonging isolation, ruining businesses, making people unemployed and dare I say it, contributing to the loss of life. For 14 days only is it such a big deal?

12.01.2022 If you've been to a cafe a couple of times and like them, strike up a conversation and introduce yourself, as a cafe owner I wish more people would do that, it makes it easier for me to remember you and your order, or conversely remember you and your ever changing order lol...and while your order is being filled we can talk about your kids or the current climate or your planned holiday, we do remember mostly lol, there are a lot, and we do ask after you if you tell us something...it goes like this when we get it wrong...didn't you just go to south? Your response Nuh I went north...who cares? You went somewhere, we remembered you did and we still want to hear it

11.01.2022 For the first time ever in my history of Maxwells Cafe I have blocked a response...not because it was negative to something I wrote which is why I left it, but then I received notifications that this person had responded to other comments left on my site and was deliberately leaving comments to cause havoc and discord, if that person was of a certain belief I would have left it and come what may, but I believe that this person just leaves commens to incite people, so this person is blocked....but its still out there....I recently had a notification from someone but could not view it, so I'm thinking its from this blocked person...so to this person, I'm sorry that I can't respond but its out of my hands I don't even know what it is you said

10.01.2022 Feeling a bit outdated when it comes to tech, I thought we were going really well because of our 5 out of 5 on Facebook, I was happy with that, but today I was encouraged to look further afield to see what other platforms rate us as, and I was really surprised, thank you everyone for liking us as much as we like you

07.01.2022 Sydney CBD this morning, Covid happened back in late March early April, we were coming back, now with the rising cases in Victoria, this is the flow on....if this shocks you, its still not as bad as the ghost town in April/May...if it wasn't for the government we wouldn't be here still and fighting...please everyone support but be safe.....your actions literally dictate right now my survival.

05.01.2022 Update...now that restrictions are starting to relax, every week I get a smile on my face and feel happy, because I know you, I know your face, even though sometimes I can't put your name or coffee order together specifically to you at that moment when O see you, I do remember you, and it makes me happy because you came back, because I do remember and you have been gone a long time.

04.01.2022 Our customers are amazing, every one..they all have their lives and their stories and they..not us, turn our cafe into a community because they choose to share with us...its you that have made our lives better for it and I hope we have given back as well, in these uncertain times, I want you to know, for good or bad for our business, we really do want to know you and thank you for it...we may be a service industry and people may think we 'have to be nice'...its a fallacy, I'v...e frequented enough similar businesses myself to understand when it's real or not, I do direct you to book at Aria by Matt Moran in Sydney, if your stuffy be expected to be treated as such, if you're not and your playful and respectful expect to have some laughs, that's how good the staff are there...and same goes for a $15 lunch or a visit to my corner store.....Andrew and I and our staff really do like you See more

03.01.2022 Get onto Netflix and look at Crazy Delicious....Andrew said to me because I love my food shows that we would watch one episode, like pfft, but yeah if it's crop then I will take 'that train' lot...its now several hours later and we are still watching...its really inspiring for cooks that don't want the regular stuff.
