23.01.2022 THOUGHTS OF WISDOM FOR THE DAY I am truly grateful for All your problems are solved you just haven’t got to that point yet.... See the spirit inside everyone. Send prayers to all that need it. Have no judgement. Everyone is learning their lessons this lifetime. Show Loving kindness, in thought, actions & words. Believe in the universe, Universal energy, God, Angels, et. Give thanks to spirit. Explore your spiritual side Give thanks and gratitude. Be the divine spirit you are. You are not your thoughts, they are not real, you can change them anytime you want. Be aware, change your thoughts to how you would like things to be. Any situation that is out of your control send prayers for healing that situation, to help someone who is suffering. Grounding yourself wear no shoes, walk on grass, dirt, water, sea, sand etc No thought, mindless meditation, mindless walking. Tongue on the roof of your mouth. Breath in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold out for 4 . Repeat. Have no thought while doing this. Smudge Sitting in nature, by the water, park etc I am at peace Love yourself. 21.01.2022 Safety while smudging Safety is paramount. While smudging always, always have something underneath to catch any embers.... Can be any heatproof item. Bowl, frying pan, shell. Anything is good, especially metal with a handle, pottery, shell. As long as the heat doesnt come thru and burn your hand. If you find what you are using is allowing the heat to come through change it immediately to something more suitable. Make sure its not too heavy that you could easily drop it. Fire alarms. Ive been smudging for years and (touch wood) have never set off the alarm. 1. Keep the smoke load to a minimum. 2. Keep away from alarms. 3. Keep moving while smudging at a steady pace. 4. Best not to stand in one place for a while as the smoke rises and accumulates and could set the alarm off. Asthma (or respiratory ailments) If you have someone in the house with asthma it would be advisable to use caution. Some peoples asthma can be triggered by smoke, but some asthmatics smoke! Just use your intelligence here! Only if you feel it is safe to smudge. Open all the windows and doors to allow the smoke to escape freely... reducing any risk of asthma attack. Do it earlier in the day preferably when you know the person affected will be out for a few hours. That allows the smoke to dissipate and the smudging to do its job. If someone is really sensitive to smoke DON'T SMUDGE AT ALL. USE ONE OF OUR LOVELY ROOM SPRAYS IF YOU FEEL IT WOULD BE A SAFER OPTION. Smudge Smouldering If you have smudging smouldering eg loose leaf or smudge stick in a bowl, just smoulder away, make sure there is no wind to blow embers away or ignite the material, causing more smoke or flying embers. Not near curtains, inquisitive pets, animals, children etc out of fear of causing a fire or burning. Always be present when using your smudging as it is a fire or lit burning plant materials. 15.01.2022 HOW DO I LIGHT MY SMUDGE STICK? 15 August 2020| How do l light my smudge stick.... An igniter, candle, match, lighter. Igniter I personally prefer an igniter. You can light all smudging Items easily. Mainly because you can lite at all angles. Hold flame as long as you need to, to get things going. The flame is a long way from your fingers and very little chance of you burning yourself. Flame - It is fast, instance and more forceable. Candle A candle is good for lighting anything above it. Smudge stick, bundles and clusters. But to light loose leaf in a bowl would be a bit more challenging as well as the dripping wax could be dropping on everything. Flame - It has a softer, meandering and more gentle flame and a long burn time. Match Well the long ones would be the way to go as they give you a bit more time to lite your smudging material. Would need to use a new match each time - no problem. They are cheap by the bulk pack ;) If you use short ones (normal packet of matches) you would have a short burning time and may take longer to get your smudging going. Could burn your fingers. (Most people wouldnt of course - mainly from experience for most of us. LOL Me included) Ouch!!!!!! Flame - same as the candle but a short burn time. Lighter Lighter is ok but similar to a match. Fingers are close to fire for a long time. Could burn yourself easily. Flame - same as the candle but heat from holding down so close to the flame can become uncomfortable. 11.01.2022 What's all the woo hah about Smudging? 15 August 2020| SMUDGING-WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?... Good question! My very thought when I never even knew what a smudge stick or smudging was. What is that thing? All those leaves all bundled up with a bit of string. Phew!!!!! Whats that smell? When you know.... LOL the rest is history. (As avid Lover's of smudging understand what I am on about) NOW Love the smell, love the way my body, space and life is going and changing for the better. 06.01.2022 WHY ARE NIYA'S SMUDGE STICKS ARE SO SPECIAL 5 August 2020| So much time and effort are taken to give you the highest quality item for your highest good and healing outcome.... Sometimes but not always I get a calling from to plant to be picked. Sometimes I am drawn to an area to find plants, flowers or whatever is placed in front of me. Other times I just come across them accidentally - but is anything accidental. The plants I have in stock have come from as far as Far North Queensland to as far South as Sydney. Permission is always asked when picking from the tree, and I only take what I need, if permission is granted. Fallen plants are picked from the ground also. All Plants are only collected in areas that environmentally clean. Have found if someone gives me a lot of plants that I havent asked for, they dont seem to work for me for some reason. I think its because I havent had the calling for that plant. Could see it as a gift I suppose.. still working on that one. STEPS TO MAKING THEM Gathering Storing Drying or used fresh Sorting Cutting to size Deciding what to make! To start making the smudging items. Gathering plants, flowers, barks, string, scissors, essential oils, flower essences etc Music, my friend and companion my little dog Lilly. Making them with good thought and loving kindness. Once the bunch is made. Getting it all together DECIDING WHAT TO MAKE????? Then Add some or all of the following. Flower Essences Living flower essences % Essential oils Still not finished Weighing, pricing and tagging. Then More prayer and invocations. Then 2 - 5 hrs of Buddhist Om chants. They also sit around healing & blessed symbols. Then Lastly, they are all blessed with an incense stick made from holy water, holy soil and medicinal herbs. (These incense sticks have been blessed by a Buddhist Priest. If you want to know who the Priest is give me a call and Ill tell you) Right ready to go!
