24.01.2022 This pigeon (Columba livia domestica) sustained a brain injury after presumably flying into a window. He or she, (determining the sex of a pigeon requires a probe) was semi-conscious at presentation and semi-paralyzed. A full physical examination was done. Overall he or she seemed to be in good health. No broken bones or ruptured soft tissue, no bleeding and in good body condition. ... Pupillary light reflexes were diminished so I suspected a severe concussion. I decided to rest him or her in a box for 24 hours. This morning this pigeon flew away in search of food = a good outcome!
