25.01.2022 Published with their permission: First Nation Elders gathered in Sydney for the 'Healing Our Spirit' Worldwide Conference. We were so honoured to host some of these lovely Delegates representing their North American Nations...probably the first to ever visit Redlands Coastal islands. They drove all the way up to stay on Macleay Island with us and are driving all the way back tomorrow...hopefully visiting Currumbin Sanctuary and our favourite NSW beachside town Brunswick Heads... enroute. Sadly, the smoke from the North Stradbroke Island fires curtailed their activities here. Even so, we learned a little of their Nations' beginnings, history, struggles, beliefs, culture and values. We so wish that we had more time with them... Trevor and I hope and trust that they leave with happy memories of the people of Macleay Island, and Yarrandabbi Dreaming. Wishing you all safe journeys home and throughout your lives and purpose... From left in the photograph, they are; Leanne Guy, of the Dine' Navaho Nation; Germaine Omish-Lucero, of the Rincon Band Luiseno people; Daniel Lucero, of the Taos Pueblo of New Mexico; and, Rose Quilt. representative of Yakama Nation, Washington State.

24.01.2022 Some snapshots of life at Yarrandabbi Dreaming with Trevor and Yvonne... A. Our enormous Red delicious Papaya grown besides our front entry, picked early to thwart the marauding flying foxes. B. Paris, our beloved poodle - irresistible! C.Moonlight casts it's golden path to Yarrandabbi. C.Macleay Island's vehicular barge, the Passenger Ferry & a runabout all arriving at the ramp and Jetty on another mid winter beautiful morning.

24.01.2022 Our Viburnum shrubs are humming with honey bees and native bees swarming amidst the sweetly fragrant flowers. You'd hear it 10 metres away!

23.01.2022 Float plane on a sightseeing trip landing on 'our' peaceful Perulpa Bay.

23.01.2022 G'day the name's Wolverine Aside from being a professional eucalyptus eater & cuddler at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary I absolutely my tickles from Koalakrusader - Instagram Koalakrusader, I mean who wouldn't!

22.01.2022 It's Sundown to the West and a full moon rises through the mainland's haze to the East. Yarrandabbi Dreaming's Sundowner Happy Hour is even more attractive! Imagine yourselves here, no traffic, no noise but the waves lapping our high tide shore... Such peace...

20.01.2022 We would not wish to be anywhere else...living the dream....

19.01.2022 Sulphur crested Cockatoos love our Northern Queensland Waratah, in the process creating a carpet of scarlet blossoms underfoot.

18.01.2022 Fishing from our beach...

17.01.2022 Our Bromeliads & Rock Orchid in Bamboo gardens

17.01.2022 Here on beautiful and peaceful Macleay Island - we miss out on the noise and clamour, the traffic, fumes and driving aggression, the crowded shopping centres, the huge posters and neon flashing lights - the visual and sensual pollution of mainland Australian cities. Don't you wish you were here........

16.01.2022 Almost unbelievable but all 8 lovely yellow eggs we cracked for this morning's breakfasts were double yolks!

16.01.2022 Dugong, Sea Cow, an endangered species like Manitou (different tails). They graze on sea grasses growing in the shallower waters of our Moreton Bay and warmer waters of Australia's East Coast. We are so fortunate to see them grazing in our small, sheltered Perulpa Bay. Our B&B guests take out the canoe & fishing kayak and are sometimes disturbed by the Dugong's huge heads popping up to 'have a look see'. Definitely NOT threatening! These are the gentle and shy 'Mermaids' of old sea tales.... What were the sailors on???

15.01.2022 Sunday's breakfasts from a la Carte menu 2nd course. Cheers! Another perfect day. Guests then spent a tranquil time paddling our Canadian canoe on Perulpa Bay following turtles. There are several species of turtles always swimming in the bay....

14.01.2022 A set of images from Yarrandabbi, includes our resident young Bearded Dragon sunbathing...

13.01.2022 "Like a Pirate Day" with Captains and Crews of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands Ferries reaping donations from willing commuters on Saturday. These funds 'looted' are for Children with Cancer. In past years they raised over $2000 per day, per boat we understand. Such fun - out came the cutlass - threats to walk the plank, or else - amidst many giggles and jokes. Everyone on board appreciated the good humour and motives! We appreciate the good nature of the crews of our boats and say a big "Thanks"

12.01.2022 Spot our resident Bush Thick Knees Curlews basking in the sun amidst our flowering Aloe garden.... Go placidly midst the noise and haste....

11.01.2022 Our thanks to past guests for their kind Reviews which have led to out receiving this recognition.

08.01.2022 Thank you Melanie for your great review...Yes Macleay Island is so very special! So close to Brisbane but so removed from 'civilization'.

08.01.2022 This morning at Pats Park only 3kms from Yarrandabbi, the water was perfect for swimming, yet we were only a few on this picturesque Macleay Island beach.

07.01.2022 Early morning mist as prawners crowd Karragarra Passage and the commuter Ferry carries people to work....

07.01.2022 We heard a Morepork Owl last night...found him/her in our Mango tree this afternoon..having a 'shut-eye' in the heat of the day...

06.01.2022 Thank you to our 'unofficial' Island photographer at Macleay Island House for this image. I have been 'shooing' the Cockatoos away from my precious crop of Passionfruit - needed for breakfasts! The last crop they demolished then destroyed. They are such comedians, raucus and social, but also destructive!.

05.01.2022 Late afternoon photos of Poincianas in Redland Bay village...

03.01.2022 Five years in a row - TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence for 2017 awarded to Yarrandabbi Dreaming. Thank you to all our great guests for submitting Reviews of their stays here and putting Macleay Island - our peaceful, beautiful island - almost a bird sanctuary - on the map!

03.01.2022 Guests' breakfasts selected from our a la carte menu

03.01.2022 Dawn commuters from Macleay Island Jetty were treated to this spectacular scene...why we choose to live here....

02.01.2022 Moonrise over the Bay from our verandah...yet another Monthly reminder of why we choose to live where we live... No concrete water-frontage, waves gently lapping the foreshore, natural beauty all around, tranquility, Birdlife...not to mention the Starlit, unpolluted indigo Sky. Breathtaking ... A rare privilege...

01.01.2022 One of the beautiful Redland Bay Streets this Summer. The Poincianas have dropped some of their blooms in the recent rain...this is a publicly available photo borrowed to show how beautiful the Redland City/Bayside is. For those not 'in the know', Redland Bay is where our Southern Moreton Bay Islands Ferry and Barge Terminals are located. We believe this is The Best (outer) Brisbane place to be - on the way to our lovely Bay Islands. Just think - a few degrees cooler in Summer due to the prevailing bay breezes. How lucky are we!
