24.01.2022 Just a reminder that we welcome parents to come and watch the DRESS UP day parade at 9am on Monday. I will have the urn on for a cuppa in the library for those who would like to check out the Book Fair after the parade.
24.01.2022 While the high schoolers are off having fun (we hope!) at Country Week we decided to have a little fun of our own and held a Teddy Bears Picnic this morning (and also celebrated Miss Gallaghers birthday) with yummy pikelets (thank you Mrs Wood) with honey on them.

19.01.2022 Our kids were very lucky today to get a preview of the 100yrs of Wylie Road Board event today! David Holdsworth and Kevin Jones expertly explained the museum and answered a multitude of questions from our kids! We would like to thank the Shire of Wyalkatchem for inviting us down and sharing your knowledge with our kids

15.01.2022 To celebrate Week 10 (and the fact all the High School children are away), we would like to invite all Primary school students to a Teddy Bears Picnic on Monday! Children are encouraged to bring along a teddy, maybe not your best one, to join in a picnic. The children will have pikelets with lots of honey to enjoy at this picnic.
15.01.2022 Great to see that the high schoolers are having a great time at Country Week ... they've had mixed results in their games and have had a great time exploring and experiencing a vaiety of things they might not usually do like seeing Fremantle Jail by night, going to the movies and to the beach and ten pin bowling.
14.01.2022 A spooky fun night was had last night by the Primary School kids. We celebrated Halloween by having a Disco. The 5/6 class and student leaders did a great job of decorating, creating games and helping the teachers run the night! A massive thank you to our P&C for funding the night and to Bernie for cooking our dinner! Stay safe and have fun if you are out Trick or Treating
14.01.2022 A couple of videos from last night's Disco
13.01.2022 Congratulations to Mr P and the Year 5/6 class on their well thought out and presented item about their camp to the historical and interesting town of Kalgoorlie at their assembly this morning. Congratulations also to the Merit Award Winners.
12.01.2022 The Issue 7 Book Club catalogues were given out yesterday and if you are ordering via the school the order forms must be received by Monday November 9th to ensure delivery prior to the end of term. This is the last chance to order from Book Club for this year. Thank you to all who continue to place orders ... the credits we earn from the sales is used to purchase new books and resources for the library. There are some spare catalogues on the counter in the office and on my desk in the library just in case your student didn't bring theirs home!

10.01.2022 Today we are celebrating World Teachers' Day .. as you can see the students have been very busy in recent weeks writing messages onto flowers which also have their photograph on. Some of the messages were funny, some very heartfelt and all were appreciated by the staff who read a couple out each to the whole school this morning.
09.01.2022 It's an exciting week ahead for our Year 5/6 class who have just left for Kalgoorlie. Wishing them safe travels and fun times!

08.01.2022 Last week Dimiti from Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management brought trays of saplings especially chosen to suit our bushland and showed us the correct way to plant them. It will be great to be able to watch our trees grow.
06.01.2022 Faction Athletics Carnival tomorrow. 9am start. Students to be in Faction Bays by 8.40am. Let's have a great day!
06.01.2022 Mr P's 5/6 class have been reading Jack's Island by WA author Norman Jorgensen so I asked him if he would be able to do a short zoom session with them to talk about the book ... amazingly Norman offered to come up and talk to them in person and today was the day! They were all attention as he explained about where he gets the ideas for his books and the amount of research and time he puts into developing his characters and writing his stories. Most of Norman's stories are ...set in earlier days ...everything from Vikings and Pirates to Rottnest Island in the 1940's. At the conclusion the 5/6 class presented a power point display they had done which included analysis about the characters in Jack's Island and some thought provoking questions which kept Norman on his toes! As I write this Norman is talking to our high school students about his work, something we didn't expect him to do. We would all like to thank Norman for coming to Wyalkatchem and we hope maybe our town might feature in his next novel! See more
