17.01.2022 One of the favourite awards at Wyclif CC is the JP Lajoie Award for performances that have, well, a character that is hard to explain... unexpected, yes... super skilled, maybe... awe-inspiring, definitely! This year it was won by Wyclif favourite Henry Wong who pulled on the whites in an hour of need after a long absence from on-field (but not off-field) duties. And... we'll let the scorecard speak for itself!

15.01.2022 Wyclif Weekly Round 2 What a great week of cricket! The U12 girls had their first outing of the year on Wednesday night against the Glen Iris Ravens. Standouts included Sophie Baker who finished with 1/6 off 3 overs.... We had a super turnout of 32 U7s Saturday morning (Woolworths Blasters), again run with military precision (and a heap of fun) by Scott ably assisted by Saloni. U10 Boys Yellow and Green had spirited encounters with Green falling just a run short of North Balwyn's 93. U12 Boys Red fell just 2 runs short against Richmond Union, Isaac Norman 14, Hugo George 21 and Patrick Forster 3 overs 2/9. Blackburn were too strong for Wyclif Blue at Highfield Lower, Henry Curlewis with a brilliant all round performance, 3 overs 2/11 and 17 runs. Men's 4th XI won on forfeit. Men's 3rd XI lost in a tight old match with Templestowe, Chapneviss with 22 (including 3 consecutive sixes), Dundon 7 overs 3/22 and Stakos with 19 runs and 7 overs 1/13 (and a catch). Men's 2nd XI beat Doncaster in a tight affair, Arestia with 50 at the top of the order, Shah with 8 overs 3/33 and Sheehan (after being promoted for the 3rds after a 5fa last week) with 5 overs 3/9. Men's 1st XI lost in a thriller against the Glen Waverley Hawks, Williams with 39, Bianco with 8 overs 3/37 and 18, Maunder 6.5 overs 3/20. To finish off the cricket feast the Women's XI had a great win against a fantastically good spirited Yarra Junction side, maintaining their position atop the ladder. Plisko 4 overs 4/2 (2 catches and a run out), Whiting 4 overs 3/10 and Ahern 23*.
14.01.2022 Great day in the Men's 4th XI!! No less than 3 father son combinations helped orchestrate a great win, including 50* from both Joe and Danny Klotz who opened the innings!
13.01.2022 On this RUOK Day during these most trying of times, we encourage everyone to spend a moment to have a look at the excellent resources at https://www.ruok.org.au/. If you are looking for someone to have a chat with, try a club member. More than likely they are a little separate to your work or family or immediate social circle, and they'll definitely be there to lend an ear.
