25.01.2022 What a contrast to last Fire season, especially in terms of hectares burnt. Permits are now no longer required, but landowners must still comply with their respective councils Open Burning policy.

25.01.2022 Wyee Rural Fire Brigade wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, after all the challenges that 2020 brought. Thank you for your generous support over the last year. We look forward to working with you again in 2021 to keep our community safe.

25.01.2022 The NSW Rural Fire Service Central Coast District is conducting hazard reduction burns today - to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Five hazard reductions have commenced along Ruttleys Rd, Wyee Rd and Pacific Highway. Smoke is moderately thick along the Pacific Highway, Wyee Rd at Doyalson and at Mannering Park. Visibility may be decreased in those areas so please drive according to the conditions.... There will be smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the hazard reduction operation. Motorists in this area should slow down and take care if driving through smoke, including keeping windows up and turning their headlights on. Residents in this area should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, remove washing from clothes lines and ensure any pets are in a protected area. Residents may also experience discoloured water due to firefighters extracting water from the water mains during the hazard reduction operation. Included in this post is an overview map highlighting the fire locations for your reference. Ongoing patrols of the burn will be conducted as required.

08.01.2022 We are hoping that our members and the community are having a safe and happy long weekend With daylight savings coming to an end this weekend, the clocks will go back 1 hour at 3am to 2am on Sunday 4 April, 2021. We are confident that your kids will appreciate the extra hour to consume their Easter goodies this year.... Now is the time to test your smoke alarm and change the battery. Follow these simple steps: Use the end of a broom handle or safely get up on a chair to push the test button. If you don't hear anything, change the battery and test again. If after changing the battery you still don't hear anything then immediately replace the smoke alarm. Batteries in your smoke alarm should be changed twice a year. A smoke alarm detector can double your chance of survival by warning you of a fire before its too late.
