23.01.2022 In 1894 a jetty was built at Anthon’s Landing, so cattle could be shipped south to Fremantle. Drovers had to bring in the cattle before the end of the school day so that children could walk home safely without the risk of being trampled. A tramway ran from the jetty to the goods shed, which was opposite the Wyndham Hotel.

22.01.2022 The Afghan cameleers who came to Wyndham were originally from the Indian sub-continent. They transported freight to outlying stations. In 1908, permission was granted for them to live on land at the Four-Mile. They built camel yards, twenty-four houses, a mosque and a well. The Afghan Cemetery is located nearby; it contains ten Moslem graves dating from 1919 to 1942. This photo shows camels being loaded. Wyndham Hotel in the background.

15.01.2022 Trailer for Mike Atkinson's survival expedition on the NW Kimberley coast, June 2017. He was following in the footsteps of Hans Bertram and Adolf Klausmann, German aviators who ran out of fuel in their seaplane in 1932, and were lost for 38 days. An amazing story, as was Mike's journey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxDCvV7dOJ0
