23.01.2022 We had the pleasure of caring for 'Teddy' for his desexing procedure! Teddy had bilateral Cryptorchidism (retained testicles) which refers to the failure of both testicles to descend into the scrotum. This condition appears to be genetic and the risk of developing testicular cancers increase significantly, if not neutered. Treatment for bilateral Cryptorchidism is the removal of the testicles from within the abdomen or inguinal canal. Teddy's surgery was successful and he is now recovering at home!

17.01.2022 Does your pet have smelly breath? Dental disease is one of the major issues seen within the veterinary industry. Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontal disease (advanced gum disease) are regularly diagnosed due to poor dental health. Clinical signs of periodontal disease include: Bad breath... Severe tartar Inflamed & bleeding gums Drooling Difficulty or reluctance to eat solid foods Annual health checks can help prevent periodontal disease by early diagnoses and management. Dental care routine can incorporate Hill's t/d biscuits, Royal Canin Dental, finger brushing and a dental scale and polish under general anaesthetic. The photo attached is a before and after dental scale and polish performed today. No teeth were extracted and the minimal damage can be reversed with ongoing dental hygiene. Keep up the good work Benji and family!

10.01.2022 Paralysis Ticks With summer approaching, the ticks are more active and it is important to ensure your beloved pets are protected! Ticks are mainly found in bush areas. They can also attach themselves to native mammals and be transported into backyard suburbia. Tick paralysis is caused by neurotoxins secreted in saliva by the tick. ... Paralysis tick symptoms include: Hindlimb incoordination & weakness Gagging, grunting or coughing Regurgitating or vomiting Change in breathing rate, effort, depth or rhythm Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your pet displays paralysis tick symptoms or you locate a tick on your pet (please bring the tick into the clinic to be identified) Current Prevention Bravecto Chew (every 3 months) NexGard Chew (once a month) Feline Frontline Spray (every 3 weeks) Paralysis ticks are lethal and prevention is the best cure as treatment does not guarantee survival. *Photo attached- another paralysis tick case today

03.01.2022 A warning to all pet owners......please be aware
01.01.2022 Due to the Government announcement concerning social distancing we can only have limited clients within the reception room and consultation room. We ask that only one owner per pet comes into the clinic with the exception of saying goodbye to a beloved pet. In order to uphold the 1.5m distancing regulations, we ask clients to stay outside if you can see another client in the reception area. Please call the clinic to inform us that you are waiting outside, we will come and get you when it's practical to come into the clinic. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
01.01.2022 The graduates from the most recent Puppy Pre-school! Majority of the puppies love to come back into the clinic after their fun experience and memories of puppy school
