14.01.2022 Nothing beats the satisfying swish of a hand plane. When the top needs a piece joined on to make it a little wider & it is too big to get on the machine, time to go old school and shoot the joint with the try plane; this tool was used by my Grandfather all his working life too.

13.01.2022 This job began before the lock down started. A contract had been signed, money paid, orders placed and work begun. I kept a close eye on developments, sought advice and kept going. 08.01.2022 It has been one of those evenings, Flat battery in my van so I had to walk home from work, then a quick ride for Brissie to the bay, (sponsorship greatly received), back to the workshop in the car to pick up some stuff that I couldn't carry home. 07.01.2022 Always good to turn off the machines & do some hand work like gluing the solid timber edges to this desk top & shelf to go above it.

07.01.2022 In any kitchen there can be odd cabinets or awkward corners. These two are for a galley kitchen - the left hand cabinet to allow space for fridge doors to open without hitting the end wall and the right hand cabinet to space the pantry unit for the same reason. The challenge is to turn them into useful spaces, in this case for oven trays, bottles, books and brooms. As I like to go the extra mile these are temporarily set up with spacers for the client's approval.
