07.01.2022 Winnam Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Corporation in partnership with Quandamooka Festival invite all Wynnum Manly locals (and Fringe dwellers!) to gather with them in Greene Park to help them open this years inaugural Wynnum Fringe Festival! Gather with them in Greene Park for a special smoking ceremony and dance presented by the Yulu Bari Ba Dancers. You will then walk as one (covid-safe) community, lead by Quandamooka Elders, along the Esplanade and up to Edith Stree...t where our weekend of festivities will take place. This is an opportunity for our diverse community to walk along the shore of Moreton Bay and hear the traditional connection to Quandamooka Country told by Quandamooka People. It's a chance for us to acknowledge the 25,000 years of history in our suburb and grow together as one. SCHEDULE: 5:20pm: Arrive and QR check-in. 5:30pm: Dance & Smoke Ceremony 5:50pm: Community walk from Greene Park to Edith Street. 6:30pm: Nix Gross 6:35pm: Welcome To Country
