25.01.2022 Yr 6 Graduation tickets are available for purchase until Wednesday. Please make sure you have purchased yours. Tickets can be paid for via the invoice using BPoint or at the school office using EFTPOS. The school office is cashless so please do not send cash to school with your student. The payment window is open Monday through to Thursdays from 8am until 11am.

25.01.2022 Mr Jeffries has set the staff a challenge to buy a book from Book Fair and donate it to the school. Now the P&C has set a challenge for families to buy and donate a book as well. Mr Jeffries has done both, staff member donation and family donation. Mrs Olsen was very happy to accept the donation. Thanks Mr Jeffries, Dustin and Casey.
25.01.2022 Last Friday 4/3WK held an art show for the staff and students. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by everyone. We have some amazing artists amongst us.

23.01.2022 It was National Fairy Bread Day today and our lovely tuck shop ladies (who know what children love to eat) provided fairy bread to our students today. Thanks for the kind gesture ladies, it bought lots of smiles to our student's faces!

22.01.2022 Term 3 was big! We said farewell to Ms Amos and Mrs Law as they both retired and we have welcomed Mr Ben Turner as our Principal and Mrs Kim Phillips as our Business Manager! We had excursions, Yr 6 camp, parent teachers interviews done over the phone. We had under 8 day celebrations and sports carnivals! Super Dragon and Gold Class celebrations plus all the learning the students have done, so so busy. We also have to thank the community for your support with the new way we have had to do things thanks to COVID-19. You have all been amazing and we thank you for your continued understanding and support!! But for now its time to rest relax and recharge! We look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday 6 October, have a safe and happy holiday and remember keep washing those hands!

19.01.2022 This Thursday our Prep to Yr 2 students will be participating in Under 8's day. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions parents/caregivers will not be able to attend. The theme for this year is play, playfulness and engaged learners. Please ensure your children bring the following things, full correct school uniform, running shoes, school hat and sunscreen, a full water bottle, morning tea and lunch as usual. The children will have a variety of activies throughout the day. We will take lots of photos to post on our fb page so you can see the great activities the children participated in during our Under 8's celebration.

18.01.2022 Hot Chocolate and PJ Day is back. This Friday (11 September), the PBP Committee is hosting a hot chocolate and pyjama day. Children can wear their pj's and have a warm chocolate drink. Please give $2 to your classroom teacher and return the permission slip by Thursday. The permission slip with more information with be going home today.

17.01.2022 Lets have some fun in 2020! The P&C are hosting a Christmas Disco on Friday 4th December starting at 5.30pm. A permission form and a letter was sent home with the students on November 16. Cost is $10 for a meal deal and disco entry or $5 for disco entry only. Forms and payment must be returned by Monday 30 November.
17.01.2022 Ms Amos called in today to say thank you for the lovely garden seat presented to her for her retirement from the school community. The seat is situated in the grassy area near the Administration Building.
17.01.2022 Did you know that our wonderful teachers, Mrs Joanne Williams, Mrs Trish Gillan and Mr Matt Frazer have been nominated for Brisbane's Teacher of the Year. Thanks to our school community and to the parents who have nominated them. Wynnum West State School is very proud of our teachers and their hard work and commitment to our students and all our other teachers and staff who make our school such a great place to be!
17.01.2022 Congratulations to our Term 3 Super Dragons. The Super Dragons were lucky enough to do some tie-dye pillow cases and some puffy paint artwork on a pair of socks each. After all the excitment they enjoyed lunch on the back deck with Mr Turner.

16.01.2022 From our Library. As the school year is coming to a close, we would like to thank our wonderful school community for all the support given to the library this year. We have appreciated the ongoing support of staff, our P&C, our families and local businesses so much! We would also like to ask that you please remind the students to return any library books to the school library at the earliest convenience possible so that we may re-shelve and organise the library ready for 2021.... We also would like to thank the Christmas Elves ( Bobby and Tayla) who put up this tree and decorated it so beautifully for us. What a lovely surprise! Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week is an opportunity to acknowledge the important role of teacher aides, whose hard work and dedication make a difference to students, teachers and school community. 04.01.2022 Book Fair opened today in the Library. It will run until Friday. Book Fair is open before school from 8am. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 Parents/caregivers are unable to attend. The students have been completing wish lists to take home. Also purchases can be made online through Scholastic. Make sure to ask your student if they have a wish list. Lots of wonderful books are available.
02.01.2022 Year 6 camp is tomorrow! Students need to be at school by 8am as the bus will leave promptly at 8.30am. Please ensure any medication is correctly labelled with a pharmacy label. Children can be dropped off at School Road (back track) entrance but due to Covid19 restrictions parents can not be on site. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for pictures and updates over the next few days!

02.01.2022 Year 3 excursion - History in a Box is on Tuesday 8 September. Payment is due this week. On this excursion the children will interpret sources of historical data as well as other activities. This excursion is always an enjoyable and informative day for our Yr 3's.
