24.01.2022 The first calf for 2020 season born yesterday - a little bull sired by Clonlara 14217, out of a Windy Gully cow.

24.01.2022 Just took a few photos this morning, and upgraded the Web site. Pictured are lots 110 and 109 for Roma sale 23rd October. 94% and 88% Morph for these guys. Tested by Dr Tracy Sullivan. They are also Breedplan recorded, both being placed in the top 5 to 10% of the Droughtmaster breed for their growth EBV's. Not over conditioned, prepared to work. 23.01.2022 Just finished our pre-season semen testing of our current sires. We Morphology test as well as Crush side test. This is because Crush side testing, does not always closely correlate to morphology. A bull can have a reasonable crushside percentage, and go onto fail morph. For the complete picture we need both. The vet preserves the semen in formalin, and then sends the semen away to a qualified morphologist for the test. Ours goes to Dr Tracy Sullivan, of A...ustralian Veterinary Semen Morphology. Extensive BIN research shows that good morphology closely correlates to the fertility, and age of maturity of the female offspring of a sire. We also believe the same goes for a bulls male offspring, and is relatively heritable. We will not buy a bull without morphology, nor do we expect our clients to buy a bull without morphology. Most smart operators are following this trend, also semen testing their bulls pre-season to get rid of any duds. Morphology can greatly improve a herds fertility. 22.01.2022 Put the sale tags into our Bunya sale bulls yesterday. We also did them for Dectomax injectable, so people can take them home secure in the knowledge they are parasite free. One week to go. Sale 5th September.

22.01.2022 The Wynwood & Windy Gully girls had a great day out at the Bell show. In the pen of three replacement heifers over 350kg - Windy Gully girls picked up third - Wynwood heifers a first and the champion pen of replacement heifers. Like to thank and congratulate Bell show society and helpers for a great day. They had record nominations even in with the dry conditions.

21.01.2022 Started "drought" feeding the "Greens" cows last week - pushing scrub to keep them going - it amazes me what they will eat when you start pushing it over, so they can reach it.

09.01.2022 Did our annual Johnes Check test 50 yesterday. Been testing close to 15 years or more now. This allows us to stay JBAS 7 and Eligible to sell cattle into Western Australia.

06.01.2022 Hope some other people are getting some rain. This is the first time the creek has run for about 3 years. We just had another 24 mm, which takes our total for the last 10 days just shy of what we had all last year! A bit over 7 inches.
