20.01.2022 Our Scouts spent a night fishing off the wharf in Wynyard. Despite only catching a small metal rod and a boat the youth had a ball!

19.01.2022 The first district event for Term 3 was held last night at Blythe Park where Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and leaders attended for a bonfire and games night, there was definitely some campfire songs sung around the fire!

18.01.2022 A big happy Mother’s Day and a huge thank you for all the Scouting mums who not only send their children but also help out where needed!

16.01.2022 Unfortunately Wynyard Scout Group won’t be doing Christmas Puddings this year, however we will hopefully be back doing them again next year. We apologise for the inconvenience!

15.01.2022 Wynyard Scouts had their first post lockdown camp held at Blythe Park over the weekend. The scouts was given a word for the weekend that they had to follow, their word was ‘Respect’ which had the youth learning what it meant to respect people and things. The Scouts has a challenge where they had to pitch a tent fully blindfolded except for the Patrol and Assistant Patrol Leader. Saturday Night the Scouts had to cook a 3 course meal on gas (which was their first time) the meal was judged by the three leaders along with the Scouts themselves, in preparation for Clark Trophy in November.

14.01.2022 Last night Wynyard Scout Group along with Somerset and Burnie Scout Groups celebrated and early founders day for Scouting and presented 1 grey wolf award, 2 Scout Medallions and 1 Queen Scout Award! Well done to Wynyards own Alex Elphinstone for receiving his Scout Medallion! Alex was with Wynyard for 2 years and during that time he completed all requirements for the award! Congratulations to all other award recipients!

11.01.2022 Easter long weekends are usually one of the busiest on the Scouting calendar. But this year, it is crucial we all do our part to take care of ourselves and thos...e around us by #stayinghome. While this year's Easter celebrations may look a little different, there's still plenty of ways you can stay connected by Scouting @ Home. Check them out here: https://bit.ly/scoutingathome

09.01.2022 What made our ambassadors who they are today? Scouts.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to Alex who last week was awarded an Australian Scout Medallion. Alex is a member of the Wynyard Scout Group and it has taken him over two years to complete all the challenging tasks required to gain this prestigious award. Well done Alex!

05.01.2022 Our own Brody and Mcrae having an interview with Bob from Leven Venturers

05.01.2022 Term 4 recommences today, as does Wynyard Scout Group! Cubs start back tonight from 6:30pm until 8pm Scouts start back on Thursday the 15th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. New members are more than welcome!

05.01.2022 Well done Brody, Harrison and everyone else!

04.01.2022 NEW VENTURER LEADERS NEEDED URGENTLY Our current leaders are leaving. So new leaders will be needed ASAP. The quicker we can find them, the longer the overlap w...ill be to prepare them. Parents of youth from any section and any group would be good candidates. Maybe a committee member would like a new role. Or possibly an existing leader would like a new challenge. Or just someone off the street! Our Venturers are a great bunch. This age group is the best! You can’t discuss philosophy or physics or politics or 1970s prog-rock with a Joey, but you can with a Vent. Well some of them anyway. Yes they have their challenges, but seeing them become adults is very rewarding. Please consider taking on this role, you won’t regret it.

02.01.2022 Unfortunately due to COVID-19 Scouts Tasmania have suspended all face to face activities including weekly meetings. If you have any questions please message our page and we will be happy to assist. Thank you Wynyard Scout Group

02.01.2022 Wynyard Cubs and Scouts had their term 3 breakup camp on the weekend at the hall. On the Saturday the Cubs did various activities from learning to strike matches and lighting candles to navigation with a compass, all while the scouts had a busy day cleaning out the tent room and their store room. Mcrae one of the Scouts ended up getting out of cooking tea while he along with 2 leaders ended up at the hospital after Mcrae’s shin crashed into a bbq grill. Sunday saw 2 Cubs lea...d their Gold Boomerang hike while the Scouts planned their 4th term and finished making their tie-dye shirts. The Scouts met up with the Cubs for lunch on Sunday where 1 Scout and 3 Cubs were invested, Brody was awarded his Patrol Leaders badge for the Scout troop and Scout Leader Luke received his wood badge. All in all the Youth and the leaders had a good weekend to finish the term.

01.01.2022 During the Covid-19 pandemic we have had to learn to adapt and overcome the obstacle of not being able to meet every week and do activities, so weekly both Cubs and Scouts have been meeting in Zoom to be able to discuss badgework and check in with each other. Thank you and well done to all of the youth who jump on each week!

01.01.2022 Gone Home Rest In Peace to three amazing gentlemen who were a huge part of Scouting! Our condolences to the gentlemen’s loved ones!
