25.01.2022 ***SEEKING A SANTA*** We are currently seeking a Santa to volunteer their time for 2 hours on Wednesday 16th December (2:30pm-4:30pm) at our centre in Wyong to spread christmas cheer and get some covid safe photos with the local children. A current working with children check and own suit is required, we will provide treats for Santa to hand out. If you are willing to help, please contact us through a private message

21.01.2022 We wish all our community members a very safe and happy holiday period. Please note that we will close for a coulple of weeks while our staff and volunteers have a well earned rest. Phoenix Youth Support will close for 3 weeks but all community members, including Phoenix Youth clients, will be able to access services at Wyong Neighbourhood Centre from January 4th.

17.01.2022 Originally known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November and marks the signing of the peace agreement between Germany and the Allies that ended the Great War of 1914-1918. The Second World War began just 21 years later. Almost a million Australians served during that conflict that lasted close to six years. Armistice Day was then renamed Remembrance Day. Now Remembrance Day is a day to remember and honour all Australians who have served.... The First World War Armistice came into effect at 11am. To commemorate the occasion, we stop at 11am for one minute of silence to remember those who served during the First World War and those who have died in conflicts since. We will remember them. Lest we forget.

10.01.2022 Today we have Orange Sky Australia doing FREE washing, we have the wonderful Community Hair Project doing FREE haircuts, Walkabout Coffee will be here with their amazing coffee We have our usual second bite breads and cakes as well as FREE clothing/shoes/nappies. #buildingcommunity

08.01.2022 Just wanted share a beautiful moment at the centre last week. We were blessed to have Community Hair Project at our centre doing free haircuts A fresh haircut can really change how one feels. More confident and comfortable within themselves. Was wonderful to see how happy B was after his fresh haircut. (We have clients permission to share pics)

04.01.2022 We gathered as a team today to mark Remembrance Day and NAIDOC Week 2020. The staff shared stories of past & present Australian service men & women, including the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander troupes who have served and often received little recognition and in some cases were treated quite poorly post service. Recognition was given for the sacrifice made by these brave men and women to leave us with a better world. Wyong Neighbourhood Centre Inc. operates on Darkinjung land and acknowledges Elders past, present & emerging.

02.01.2022 We have pizza packs available on the verandah today, everything expect cheese is in the bag ready to make homemade pizzas. We also have plenty of fresh fruit and veggies and our usual bread, clothing, books and shoes
