23.01.2022 SO MUCH TO DO AT XANADU THIS WEEK! Get the week off to an amazing start with Slow Flow in the AM, or an hour of pure relaxation with the Pop Up Guided Meditation Class at 5:30PM. The second last Yoga By Candlelight Class is on Friday night, with the theme Alignment. This is always such a beautiful experience and my absolute favourite class to facilitate! There’s yoga for the whole family to enjoy this week, with combined children and adults feature classes on Sunday. Classe...s are divided into 3 separate children’s age groups, so participants can get the most out of their class time with age appropriate themes. The classes don’t have to be just for parents either; bring your grandchildren, nieces, nephews or god children for a fun bonding experience! 22.01.2022 Self care doesn’t have to be a spa holiday or some big event...it could just be laying in the backyard reading a book, taking a walk somewhere beautiful, having a bath, popping on a face mask while you have a cuppa and watch Friends reruns. Whatever connects you to the moment and fills your cup

20.01.2022 If you are often made to feel uncomfortable or upset by others’ treatment of you, it may be time to reset your personal boundaries! It is essential to set your own boundaries in order to have healthy relationships. Personal boundaries are important, because they lay out the basic guidelines of how you want to be treated and what you will accept. Although you can choose who to interact with in your personal life (such as your choice of close friends), this is not always the ca...se in other environments such as work, family, community etc. Interacting with those who have poor boundaries can leave you with feelings of confusion, anxiety, or of feeling drained; these can all be signs that your own boundaries have been violated. Therefore, you have to know how to establish healthy emotional, physical and even spiritual boundaries in all relationships and interactions to feel more respected and safe. This is what we will be working further into during the Setting Boundaries feature class. For full details and ticket link https://fb.me/e/3aXbAmHxa

20.01.2022 For our very last Yoga By Candlelight for 2020, I have chosen the theme of Acceptance. Being right in the midst of the holiday season where we are spending more time with family, in bigger crowds, at more events, more added stress and less time, I thought Acceptance would be the most important theme for us to work further into. No matter what situations or stressors you are facing, fighting what is won’t make it not so. The biggest obstacle between yourself and real happi...ness is the acceptance of what is! A big part of healing and recovering from the harder and more painful parts of life is accepting what has taken place. In order to move on, we must first acknowledge what’s happening now. But, as all of us know, this is much easier said than done. Despite being one of the most important life hacks any of us can master, the practice of acceptance is enduringly difficult. During this feature class we will go through many different elements including: gathering in circle to discuss new perspectives around the class theme, breathing techniques, gentle stretching, yin poses and relaxing meditation. 20.01.2022 A free challenge for you all to keep us connected, motivated and feeling good (no diets or exercising required ). Post your feel good moment in the comments here, put up a post in the Xanadu Community Facebook Group, or post to your social media stories/account and tag Xanadu Yoga! Whether it’s as simple as a peaceful cuppa, a pretty flower you saw or jumping out of a plane (you never know, some of y’all are that crazy), share it so we can all share your moment! If you aren’t in the group and would like to be, request to join here https://www.facebook.com/groups/638447300173828/?ref=share

18.01.2022 Xanadu is back! The regular weekly timetable has remained the same moving into 2021 and the first week back will be wrapped up with a Yoga By Candlelight class with the theme of Intentions. Intentions are different to resolutions; instead of thinking of a goal you’d like to achieve, you’re focusing on WHY you want to achieve it and what you believe this will mean for your life. Goals are for achieving, intentions are for feeling. Goals are much easier to achieve when you’re... clear on your intentions! We will go deeper into this theme in the Yoga By Candlelight Class. For further information including the ticket link https://fb.me/e/1NwWaRP0F To book into any regular weekly class https://cal.smoothbook.co/5edb18e615c5883b337c6719#/class New You Yoga Challenge (4 weeks from 1st - 28th Feb) https://fb.me/e/cSjOZXLFn Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions

17.01.2022 Our physical body, our mind and our spirit must all be facing the same direction to move forward. Alignment is our natural state and while we may find ourselves deviating from the path, we’re never too far off track to find our way back. Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance - Brian Tracy When y...ou’re out of alignment, you might feel stressed, sick, anxious or resentful. You may be blocking things. Blocking happiness, connection, creativity, abundance. If so, it’s time for a tune up, wheel balance and rotation! The key to getting back into alignment is to want it. Show up for yourself. You can move past your fear and choose again. You can start a new story, shift your perceptions and allow miracles to unfold. Your desire to feel better is all you need to pivot toward alignment. During this feature class we will go through many different elements including: gathering in circle to discuss new perspectives around the class theme, breathing techniques, gentle stretching, yin poses and relaxing meditation. For full details and ticket link https://fb.me/e/YOmKuBZI

17.01.2022 In our first Candlelight class for 2021, we will be focusing on our intentions. Setting an intention is the first step towards achieving any goal! A strong, clear intention helps you to channel your energy into your desired outcome. By saying I can you are making a powerful commitment to yourself. Too often, we lose track of our goals because we become overwhelmed by the journey and forget about the destination. Instead of focusing on how wonderful it would feel to be abund...ant and successful in our endeavours, we worry about the obstacles we’ll face along the way. I can becomes I wish or I’ll try...and just like that, we give up on our goals and dreams. So together let’s take back our power and set a strong intention for the year ahead! During this feature class we will go through many different elements including: gathering in circle to discuss new perspectives around the class theme, breathing techniques, gentle stretching, yin poses and relaxing guided meditation. 17.01.2022 Due to Covid, the usual Yoga4Dignity that runs in October will be a little different this year. Rather than holding a charity class, I have created a team you can join to help me fundraise. Pledge to Move4Dignity with me and together we can raise some funds to help end period poverty. If you’d prefer to donate instead of fundraise, that would be amazing too! Click the link below to donate, or click View Team which will bring up an option to join the group. https://www.sharethedignity.org.au/fundrai/staceyhill/yoga

13.01.2022 I haven’t put this up as a separate post yet, but currently there’s only 5 spots left! This fortnight's theme is Self Care. Here’s some info, the rest can be found in the Facebook event: Self care isn’t selfish! It’s giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you. Self care allows you to take care of your mental, emotional and physical health. Although it’s a simple concept in theory, it’s something often overlooked or that is hard to make time for. Quality... self care is the key to improving how you feel, to reducing feelings of anxiety and overwhelm and to really being present in your own life. This special 2 hour feature class is designed to refuel you and help you identify ways you can better take care of YOURSELF so that you have more to give to others. Self care isn’t about being selfish and only considering your own needs; it is rather about knowing what you need to do in order to take care of yourself (and subsequently then being able to take care of others). Kindness to yourself = kindness to others!

13.01.2022 R U OK? An important question you’ll be seeing a lot of today, but what if the answer is no? Listen without judgement: Allow the person to talk about their feelings and listen with an open mind. Provide them with a safe space to open up, showing compassion and empathy. Encourage action: Rather than giving advice, ask questions...... - How can I support you? - What can I do to help you get through this? - What can be the first step from here? You can share your own experiences and what has worked for you, but keep in mind you are different people. You are helping them work through something for themselves and not trying to fix them. If the situation is quite serious, you can ask questions such as... - Have you thought about visiting your doctor? - Do you think it would help more to talk to someone who can point you in the right direction and get you extra assistance if you need it? Check in: Make a time to check back on them afterwards and stay in touch. Let them know you are thinking of them and ask how they’ve been, or how they went with the actions they’d decided to take. Check on them regularly. Make sure to also look after yourself; you can’t support others effectively unless you also support yourself. For more information, go to https://www.ruok.org.au/. If you are feeling distressed, or need advice or support, you should consult your local medical professional. If you're in Australia, support is available via Lifeline 13 11 14 and SANE Australia 1800 18 SANE (7263).

11.01.2022 LAST WEEK OF CLASSES UNTIL JAN 11! Get your yoga fix before the Silly Season really ramps up. I also have gift vouchers available in the studio this week for pick up or post If you need some extra zen and time for yourself (or know someone who does), this Friday night’s Yoga By Candlelight Acceptance class will be the last one for 4 weeks! 09.01.2022 Spring is nature’s New Year! Today’s equinox marks the official beginning of Spring and the time when day and night is of equal length. The Spring Equinox is a time to recognise any darkness we may wish to say goodbye to and to welcome new light into our lives. It’s about finding balance. Rituals exist in all cultures and traditions throughout the world for the equinox (we’ve all heard of Spring cleaning for one), so I’ve gathered a few rituals I thought might be of interest ...to anyone wanting to welcome the season of rebirth. Set some intentions: Choose what metaphorical seeds you want to plant this season and how you will water them. What values are you hoping to align yourself with? What goals do you want to realise? Remember, the Spring Equinox is nature’s New Year and I think we all could do with a bit of a reset and re-evaluation at the moment! Take a walk in nature: Have your attention focused on changes in the land, climate, creatures and plants. Reflect on yourself renewing as other parts of nature you encounter are doing this. Spring Cleaning: Cleansing in and around your home. Sweeping/vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, getting rid of clutter, re-organising etc. Air out your home: Open all windows to let new air flow through and circulate. Smudge the house with sage and bring in some fresh flowers. Garden: Clear weeds/debris and any clutter. Plants seeds in a garden bed or pot. Let the seeds hold your intentions and be nourished by you. Water them over the next month and think of these intentions every time you nourish the plants. What are you doing today to celebrate the equinox?

07.01.2022 I AM...CONFIDENT - CONTENT - POWERFUL. What do you see first?

06.01.2022 As a child, I was always picking weeds. Flowers no one valued or appreciated, but I always thought were so cute and pretty. I still find them cute and pretty! How often do we stop and just admire something for its natural beauty rather than its perceived value? Maybe it’s because I’ve felt like a weed before and find this a bit of a metaphor for the way people can treat others. I may be strong and resilient (and hard to get rid of?), but I can be a little bit delicate too.... I’ve been treated as less than because I’m not too concerned with keeping up certain outside appearances, of fitting in or looking/acting/talking like everyone else...but still I manage to bloom in my own way. My roots run deep and no matter what happens, no matter what others try to do, I will always find a way to survive...and thrive. When I bloom many won’t even notice let alone appreciate it, but a certain few will understand the perseverance it takes for a weed to get to the point of flowering. The resilience and determination needed to stay grounded when others try to rip into you, weathering all of the storms and taking on everything else that life throws at you. I’m not the expensive bouquet made up of perfect flowers, chosen to be admired for their beauty but quickly wilting and withering...I am a wild flower. It’s nice to stop and smell the beautiful roses, but I want to know who’s stopping to admire how pretty the weeds are. Where are all my wild flowers at?

04.01.2022 Yin Yoga is a mindful and slow paced practice, including a series of floor based supported postures to help release deeply stored tension in the body. It is a beautiful counter-balance for everyday life, as it: - Calms and balances the mind and body - Reduces stress and anxiety - Increases circulation... - Improves flexibility - Releases fascia and improves joint mobility - Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of Chi or Prana This Pop Up class includes: - A slow and gentle warm up flow, to stretch and prepare your body for the longer holds in the Yin poses. - Yin Yoga postures to release stored tension throughout different areas of your body. Each Yin pose is held for around 5 minutes before moving on to a different pose. - Nourishing Pranayama (breath) practice during the Yin poses to help you feel balanced and full of life. - Short guided meditation to finish the class. Use your class pass, membership or purchase a casual pass for $15. For full details and ticket link https://fb.me/e/3fKKGg2uX

03.01.2022 Who are the people who inspire you? Can you name some qualities you admire about them? Did you know these are the same qualities you admire in yourself and long to embody, you’re just noticing them in other people? Don’t believe me? Try this: 1. Write down 3 people who inspire you (whether famous, family or friend). 2. Write next to each person 3 qualities you admire about them and don’t worry if you are drawn to use the same words (it’s actually a good thing). 3. The things ...you’re seeing in these people you admire most are the exact things that your soul most wants you to express. 4. How can you express these qualities more? You should start today! If this post resonates with you, you HAVE to read the book Light is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell. The book is written as a guide to answer your soul’s calling, I recommend it to people ALL. THE. TIME. Get on it

03.01.2022 Yesterday I took on one fear I’ve had since I was little...public speaking. I know I spend almost every day talking non-stop, but I quite often still get nervous before teaching classes; especially my candlelight classes because I want them to be so special for people. The Australian Breastfeeding Association Rockhampton & Capricorn Coast asked me to speak at their annual Mothers Day High Tea Fundraiser (postponed until yesterday due to covid) on a topic I’m so passionate abo...ut, which is It Starts With You and creating a discussion around caring for yourself. I said yes without hesitation because I know how important the message is, but was absolutely freaking out in the lead up to the event. Knowing what I had to say was more important than my fear of saying it publicly, I managed to get up, take the mic and talk. I don’t have much recollection of what I said, but I know I was purely speaking from the heart because my brain completely shut down on me (I’m not sure if it was due to my nerves or the champagne). There were so many things I forgot to say and things I wish I had have said better (I had a fun drive home alone from Yeppoon to Rocky with my thoughts on all the coulda shoulda didn’ts), but the point is I did it! Yes I was nervous, yes it didn’t go the way I had planned and yes I could have done it better, but I DID IT! And it feels pretty amazing! What’s something you are afraid of doing, but know you need to do? Where can you step out of your comfort zone? The first time is always the hardest/scariest and maybe it will totally suck BUT then there are no what if moments down the track. We don’t regret the times we gave it a go and it didn’t work out, only the chances we didn’t take. What chance are you being called to take?

02.01.2022 Thank you! As I reflect on this whirlwind of a year, I really just want to express my gratitude to all of you who have helped build this amazing community. Things got messy and many things I could have done better, but I have learned so much and appreciate all of the lessons. It is only through your support that Xanadu not only survived 2020, but has also evolved and grown in ways I never could have imagined this time last year! I can’t wait to kick off 2021 doing what I lo...ve and look forward to seeing what this next year has in store and where it will take us. Always remember... You are magic! Stacey

02.01.2022 I have been blessed to not only have my own dad and my husband as father to our girls, but on reflection I’ve always been surrounded by amazing dads. My grandfather, uncles, family friends...and now the generations continue. As I celebrate these men today, I also know that today can be hard for many. If Fathers Day makes you sad, mad, lonely or left out, I’m also holding you in my thoughts.
