19.01.2022 Hi everyone, Please see listed below the Covid updates. I am actually lost for words From midnight last night, we were again advised to close the doors to indoor recreational sport activities for a 2 week period ( Tuesday 17/11 - Tuesday 1/12 inclusive ). Therefore, there will be no classes running as of tomorrow ( Tuesday 17/11 ) for the next 2 weeks as we wait upon further SA health and government guidelines.... Scheduled open week dates from Sat 28/11 Friday Dec 4 will be cancelled at this stage and rescheduled. This is hoping that we are able to add a further two weeks of classes onto the term if this closure is for a 2 week period only. Only time will tell. Term 4 classes would then conclude on Sat Dec 18. Troupe audition date to remain the same if things go according to plan. I wish I had a Covid crystal ball, but will keep you updated as soon as I find out any information. Ideally, we would keep the concert for Saturday Dec 5 ( troupe student demonstration ) and then aim for Term 4 to conclude on Friday December 18. This would make up for the 2 week closure that has been forced upon us today, and new open week dates will be advised if this is the case.. everyone say your prayers and cross your fingers and toes. Tickets for the end of year production, ‘Let’s Dance’ will be postponed for sale until Dec 1 at this stage. The trybooking link will be forwarded shortly when we can secure the event as I need to confirm theatre numbers yet again !! With a 4 square metre rule now being applied, we may have to rework the numbers accordingly. Ceccchetti Exams Congratulations to the girls and Nathaniel for their wonderful exam efforts today. The examiner and pianist commented on how well prepared the students were. Thank you to all the teachers who were there today to show their love and support to the Xcel students. It is very much appreciated by myself, parents and students alike. The Cecchetti society have advised me that they are working on how to get the few exam days remaining finished after this two week closure and restrictions are lifted or get some sort of exemption to finish off the session complying with the 1 person per 4metre rule but we need SA health and government approval for this to go ahead, so watch this space !!!! I will be in touch with the remaining exam students as soon as I am updated. They are as determined as I am to allow these students to sit the exam, and finish off the year showcasing the hard work that they have put in. There is to be no private lessons at this stage but I will call SA health and the Covid hotline tomorrow to see if there can be any sort of exemption made on this.
