23.01.2022 Storm on the flood plain

21.01.2022 Three months ago we lost this very special bloke We miss you everyday

19.01.2022 Dramatic scenes today in Berry Springs when a bushfire whipped up and raged through the area threatening homes, Berry Springs Primary School and at one point it... looked like the Territory Wildlife Park was in the firing line. Fire Crews both ground and air worked flat out to try and control the blaze and save nearby properties from going up in flames, and they did a fantastic job. All props to them, real life heroes. The hazy sunset was spectacular but the fires continued to burn keeping emergency crews working into the night. Spare a thought for all fire crews around Australia and across the globe putting their lives on the line to keep others safe. Here in Berry Springs Bushfires NT, Berry Springs Volunteer Bushfire Brigade and XO Aviation did an amazing job. RESPECT

15.01.2022 Finally we have a wet season

14.01.2022 WARNING Bushfires NT use firebombing aircraft to reduce or halt the spread of a fire. Our aircraft can drop up to 3000 litres of water, this is equivalent to 3... tonnes of force. This force can strip branches off trees and cause severe injury and possible death. Firebombing aircraft use a siren to alert an imminent water drop. IF YOU HEAR THIS SIREN MOVE AWAY IMMEDIATELY! Your safety is paramount. IF YOU HEAR THIS SIREN MOVE AWAY IMMEDIATELY!

13.01.2022 Hard to believe fires on the floodplain and its nearly Christmas The top end feeling the effects of a very dry year

13.01.2022 While the southern states are chilling out the Top End is in full swing bushfire season, and today was no different. Supporting the Northern Territory Police, F...ire and Emergency Services and Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) volunteers were XO Aviation water bombers and a control helicopter from Aerotech Australia. The Aerotech AS 350, VH-HQO circle about overhead directing three water bombers from XO Aviation, VH-NTM, VH-ZBI and VH-OUM, all being Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft. The three bombers cycled between the fire zone near Humpty Doo and refilling with retardant at their base at Batchelor Airstrip about 60km away. Many thanks must go to the crews both in the air and at the airstrip, plus those fighting the fires on the ground, many of whom are volunteers. #firefighters #waterbomber #aerotech #xoaviation #at802 #as350 #ntfes #ntfrs See more

13.01.2022 Waiting to go back to work

13.01.2022 Fighting a Berry Springs fire, our crews on the ground were given a helping hand from an XO Aviation aircraft with the capacity to hold a whopping 3,200 litres ...of water! Due to the dry weather and high winds, our Top End and Katherine region staff, volunteers and contractors have been very busy. Severe fire weather conditions are likely to continue, hopefully easing off for the weekend please take care out there. Thanks to Air Attack Supervisor Michael Carter for the footage.

07.01.2022 Looking to escape the southern Australia winter? Northern Australia is a top choice with its clear blue skies, warm days and cool nights that characterise the... dry season (MayOctober). However, this time of year is also northern Australia's bushfire season... The weather conditions that make our tropical landscape so picturesque also make it one of the most fire-prone environments in the worldso if you're travelling up north make sure you stay up to date with any fire weather warnings on our website.
