20.01.2022 I think I got an eye-lectric shock when I opened up rod's veg box this week..! The colours were so intense you could get a weeks worth of energy just by looking at them. For anyone who's thinking of coming down to the yabyum chalet bar for some cosy tunes & snacks tonight..here's what's on the menu.. Wedges;... chestnut,leek & shiitake mushroom steamed dumplings; spicy veg, wild greens & kidney beans samosas; age-dashi tofu; pine mushrooms & broccoli fried with garlic & herbs; feijoia & walnut salad.. & more..all made with super-fresh seasonal produce grown & gathered in our very own neighbourhood..woo-hoo..power to the people..!
19.01.2022 Despite the weather, it's all star billing tonight at Yab Yum ... direct from the southern European no flies zone... 'FOOD' featuring Richie Samosa on guitar, Charles Fungus on Bass, No-Animal on Drums (Herbie Spatchcock thankfully has had to cancel). If anyone knows a vegan instrumentalist that could fill in, please just punt away ... FOOD Starts 6pm at the Hepburn Springs Chalet. Be Brave.

09.01.2022 I'd like to send out a very BIG THANKS to everyone who has come along, been involved, provided wonderful fresh seasonal fruits of the earth, (Rod, Florian, et al)... and enjoyed the food & fun during the first season of the YabYum Plant-Power-Point. We are taking a break for a few weeks while Jaret is away and I relocate to Basalt..which I'm supa-excited about..getting out into the wild where I can do lots of exploring for interesting wild herbs, fungi, and all manner of supe...r-foods, medicines and other smurfery! We'll be back with a bang in Spring with new season local organic produce and foraged wild edibles to work & play with...& also Spa Vinyl Club, and some new theme nights to bump up the fun factor. Thanx again from Alexis, Owen, Bunnie, Cam, Jim, Kim, Erinn, Viv, & all the Yab Yum Crew
02.01.2022 Two very local very seasonal specials reappearing on the menu this week... Mini filo triangles filled with dock greens & captains creek walnuts..very yummy..I've perfected the recipe at home this week I think..! Also, steamed dumplings with fried slippery jack mushrooms, leek & tofu. Even if you've tried slippery jacks before & not been sure about them..try these dumplings..this is the way to go with them..yummy deep mushroom flavour & their usually wierd texture works perfec...tly in dumplings..one of my fave recipe inventions for this year so far...!
