25.01.2022 CARE SANCTUARY update & HELP needed! The CARE barn is looking fabulous however to be able to offer homes for rescue animals we still need some animal furniture & play equipment to be made! Could you help by perhaps taking on a project such as this? We are excited to be collaborating with local rescue organizations to foster cats until they find their forever homes. We need a cat tree made for our wonderful cat enclosure (examples from Pinterest provided). Some other ...play equipment for environmental enrichment such as ramps and sleeping areas that are easy to clean will also be a fantastic addition to the space. A large timber guinea pig/rabbit pen & play equipment for these little critters are also required to complete our Sanctuary Barn. If you think to can help by building some of this animal furniture/play equipment please get in touch with Dr Tijana Simic on 0416930411 or email [email protected]. (Photos taken from Pinterest)

05.01.2022 Message from Dr TESS GOODWIN Yackandandah Health Medical Centre The Yackandandah Health Medical Centre is here to assist the community to stay well and safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.... A State of Emergency has been declared in Victoria. This gives us the opportunity to keep Covid-19 positive numbers low and protect the vulnerable members of our community. The aim is to flatten the Covid-19 bell curve so that our health services are not overwhelmed by people affected by Covid-19 and we can provide care to all. See: https://apps.npr.org//grap/covid-flattening-curve-20200313 We are offering Telehealth Phone Consultations with Dr Tess Goodwin and Dr Alex Maslen to ALL patients of our practice. If you need scripts, referrals, pathology requests or discussion re symptoms, we can consult over the phone and develop a plan. We will also continue to see patients without symptoms face to face as well. If you are concerned you may have been exposed to or have symptoms of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s important you limit exposure to other people to reduce the risk of transmission. This means the Albury and Wodonga Emergency Departments ARE NOT the best place to go unless you are critically unwell. If you’re worried you may have symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), call your GP in the first instance. By calling your GP before arriving they can take appropriate infection control measures. We will call Albury Wodonga Health if you are very unwell and organise for you to present to hospital. You can also call Albury Wodonga Health on (02) 6058 4444. You will not qualify for a Covid-19 swab unless you fit the criteria below: - If the patient satisfies both clinical and epidemiological criteria, they are classified as a suspected case: CLINICAL CRITERIA: Fever OR Acute respiratory infection (for example, shortness of breath or cough) with or without fever AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CRITERIA: International Travel in the 14 days before onset of illness OR Close contact in the 14 days before illness onset with a confirmed case of COVID-19. YACKANDANDH HEALTH MEDICAL CENTRE Phone: 0260 280 130.
