22.01.2022 Today we have @werebros beautiful warm carrot salad as a side to our roast vegetable lasagna on our specials board. Most of the vegetables used in the lasagna were grown in by Jessee’s grandparents in Yackandandah, we don’t think you can get any more local than that!

07.01.2022 Hi all. Me again. Nervous as I’m opening my shop for a bit of a trial tomorrow. Hopefully the power will stay on otherwise all my ice cream will melt. That woul...d be shit. Just made the executive decision (you can do that when you are self employed) to say NO to single use rubbish. Even though nervous me has already bought all the fancy BIOPAK cups, lids, bamboo spoons, recycled this and that. I think I wanna try doing it without even that. I was stressed out. Didn’t want mis out on sales as setting up a new business is expensive. Compostable and recycled and all, already heaps better than the cheap, dirty stuff you see floating around in our oceans, but still. So if anyone wants fancy plant based cups and bamboo spoons ? Folk festival?? Now I’m definitely no climate hero or plastic warrior. I chuck stuff in the bin, I buy cans of fizzy drinks at the servo when filling up my old polluting diesel. I eat meat, buy stuff at Kmart and much more of that. I don’t wanna be a hypocrite!! But I think we can run this place without creating unnecessary waste. And if we do so from the start, it will be easier too. I hope! Of course we will have toilet paper & napkins, paper straws, use packaging and will create waste and rubbish. Food safety is a thing too so yes I legally need to cling wrap some stuff. And that’s okay. But let’s try to minimise it shall we. So heads up: BYO coffee cup if you want a coffee on the go. Eat your ice cream on a waffle cone and if you don’t like those then eat in and use my glass and silverware. Feels a bit like royalty doing so If you’re indecisive like my fiancé then use my real spoons for a bit a taste teste. No plastic or bamboo beats a real spoon right ? I’ll wash them. Simple. Tourists ? I’ll do my best to persuade them to slow down, eat in and relax. Will it cost me sales? Probably. But I don’t care. Let’s do what’s right for the planet and the people on it. You, me .... us. X Scoop21-
03.01.2022 Artist Spotlight: William Barton, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading didgeridoo players ...and composers. He’s one of the great virtuosos. It’s a sound I had heard before, but never with that sort of technique. The possibilities are extraordinary. This is a great man. He radiates. You watch him and think, this is impressive. - Sir Simon Rattle, Artistic Director Berliner Philharmoniker. We are thrilled to announce that for the concert William will be performing in four items, including his own composition, a Didge Fusion, a combination of didgeridoo, guitar and vox. We hope you'll join us on Saturday 14 March in beautiful Beechworth. Tickets available here http://bit.ly/2SWnp8g
