25.01.2022 The Survey Thank you! ... to everyone who completed the YFNC Survey 2020. The survey is now closed, and in the next couple of weeks, the Committee will receive a presentation of results from Club Builder. We are all hopeful that 2021 will be a brand new opportunity to get teams back together, training and playing for the Roos. When that happens, the Committee will be looking to learn from the survey, to fine-tune what we do, and maybe do some things quite differently.... We will be working up a new strategic plan, and the survey will help us set priorities and directions for the Club. The AGM Speaking of 2021, the Annual General Meeting usually falls in November, but we have pushed it out a couple of weeks to Thursday, 3 December. We did this hoping we could have a real meeting, rather than Zooming, and it might just be possible that we can get people together at Butson Park once more this year! All positions are declared vacant at the AGM, and some current members aren’t going to stand for election for 2021, so there will definitely be opportunities for new voices on the Committee. You’ll hear more about this, and about some of the work the Committee has done this year, which will make 2021 a very good opportunity to get on board! Ford for thought Remember the Push Up Challenge? This clip will demand about 90 seconds of your attention https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1m0T2UDAIo Trevor Matthews Secretary

25.01.2022 At around this time every year, our club holds our Presentation Ball to celebrate our successes and generally have a good time together. This event invariably includes a speech by the President, summing up the year. So ... while we don't have the ball, we DO have a President, and we DO have a speech. And here it is ...

25.01.2022 Golf night is two weeks away Let us know you are coming by commenting below To support catering and competition please let us know by this time next week ... Let’s play!

24.01.2022 YFNC: Our Club | Our Home | Our Community "We are Yackandandah" Calling out to all trainers/volunteers. Season 2021 is almost here, and we're sure that after a restful 2020 you're all looking at ways that you can get involved at the club. The 2021 football & netball season is not far away, with a start date 27th of March. YFNC is again fortunate to have over 200 athletes participating in either netball or football on any given weekend, ranging from midgets through to sen...iors. These athletes require, pre-game preparation along with game-time maintenance. This can include general first aid, strapping, massage, stretcher personnel, or handling a defibrillator. If you have these unique skills and would like to use or share them, we can use them. If you don’t have the skills but would like to learn or get trained, we are happy to assist in ensuring you get the right training. To register your assistance or interest, give Pannie a call to discuss how you can get involved: 0408 658 250. Waiting to hear from you. See more

24.01.2022 In case you've forgotten, this Sunday is our working bee at Butson Park. As you can see, there's a bit to do, so as many bodies as possible would be great so that we can get the place in shape for the season (which is not far away- woohoo!). Please bring tools!!!

23.01.2022 Great story about a legend of our club. A true gentleman. Well done John 'Butcher' Dale.

19.01.2022 Reminder Our AGM is next Thursday night 7pm in the club rooms. Look forward to seeing you there ... If you are unable to attend and would like a proxy form please let us know.

18.01.2022 The results are in. Once again, thank you to those who took part in our recent community survey. It has provided the club with valuable insights into what we do well and areas on which we can improve. ... These survey results allow us to begin the journey towards developing a strategic plan for the club. We have engaged ClubBuilder, a sporting strategy organisation to guide us in determining what is needed to make Yackandandah Football Netball Club successful both on and off the field (and court). Once again, thank you for your input and stay tuned!

17.01.2022 Dear players, members, sponsors and supporters Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a recent spike of cases in Victoria, the Tallangatta and District Football League, along with its members, has cancelled the 2020 season. Please see the media release from the league below. This applies to all senior, reserve and under age football. The Tallangatta and District Netball Association is awaiting the result of a survey of clubs before making a decision.... While this is bad news for our club and the competition as a whole, the decision was made with the health and safety of our communities in mind, as well as the long-term viability of the league clubs. As a club, we are determined to make the best of an unfortunate situation, and with your continued support we will be planning to come back fully prepared for the 2021 season. Please stay in touch and involved with the YFNC for the remainder of this year and into next year. We are a strong family club, and we can’t wait to see everyone back and enjoying their sport in 2021. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding as we and the rest of the football community have worked through this issue.

16.01.2022 Sad news, with the passing of keen Yack supporter Reg Monshing during the week. He always attended every game to watch his grandson Adam Bullivant play. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace Reg.

12.01.2022 Stay Calm Possible Return To Training but not yet! You may have heard that football and netball training can begin soon. It may, but it probably won’t be next week, and may not even be the week after. AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria have released guidelines, and the Club committee has begun work on them to get a Return To Training up and going. ... It will be training, but not as you know it. For example, you won’t be allowed to walk down to Butson Park after you get off the school bus, you’ll only be in groups of ten and you won’t be able to use the changerooms. You’ll get a lot of information before you can choose to attend training, so please be patient!

12.01.2022 Season over sort of! We all know that the TDFL and TDNA have called off season 2020 but there is some netball being played, and there may be some footy being played in August. What about fees?... We know it’s taken some time but the Committee has resolved that Utilities fees will be fully refunded - please note you can roll them over and have no utilities fees to pay in 2021. Memberships paid may be rolled over to 2021 season, ie no Membership fees in 2021. OR You may elect to donate some or all of fees paid to the Club’s re-build and development fund (we’ve got architects on the job as we speak and every cent will count!) OR You may request a full refund. Netball Uniform Hire which have been paid will be refunded in full. Treasurer Chris Kenny will email everyone who has paid fees. If a junior football competition begins, players will need to be registered. This might involve a (reduced) fee for insurance we’re waiting on some advice on this BUT you MUST be registered to play, so expect ANOTHER email about this!

03.01.2022 Great initiative for our young members! This course is designed for young leaders who are about to enter a time of life in which there are often significant pressures to experiment with risk-taking behaviour. This course aims to provide young people with a tool kit to help them resist this pressure and to respond confidently. Bookings are essential as spaces are limited. 01.01.2022 Looking for the new We’ve known since last century our facilities have to change. After the new netball courts, the Committee has been working on this during the season that never was. We had a look at Netball Victoria and AFL Victoria guidelines about clubrooms and change rooms (you can find them on the web). We know we have to get on the front foot and to do this we’re working with local architects to design and produce plans for the club we want to be. From this, we...’ll get the kind of detailed plans needed to get a foot in the door with funding bodies. A new build or even a serious refurbishment will cost ... a lot! To get us going in the right direction, we’re working with consultants to develop a pro-active strategy as we seek funds. So, the Committee has been busy. A Building Development sub-committee has been zooming in with the people who are working for us. We’re getting very close to a vision of our new home for you, our members, for every level of government, and for everyone else whose help we’re going to need. We’re thinking of our new netball courts as Step 1 watch this space for Step 2! Incidentally, if you see anyone, including anyone you know, riding bikes on the new netball courts, that would be a NO! Please tell someone maybe someone on the Committee, or maybe your coach. We know some people are a bit slow, but it’s sort of obvious really they’re for netball, not learning to ride a bike or tricks that belong at a skate park!
