22.01.2022 Message from Dr TESS GOODWIN Yackandandah Health Medical Centre The Yackandandah Health Medical Centre is here to assist the community to stay well and safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.... A State of Emergency has been declared in Victoria. This gives us the opportunity to keep Covid-19 positive numbers low and protect the vulnerable members of our community. The aim is to flatten the Covid-19 bell curve so that our health services are not overwhelmed by people affected by Covid-19 and we can provide care to all. See: https://apps.npr.org//grap/covid-flattening-curve-20200313 We are offering Telehealth Phone Consultations with Dr Tess Goodwin and Dr Alex Maslen to ALL patients of our practice. If you need scripts, referrals, pathology requests or discussion re symptoms, we can consult over the phone and develop a plan. We will also continue to see patients without symptoms face to face as well. If you are concerned you may have been exposed to or have symptoms of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s important you limit exposure to other people to reduce the risk of transmission. This means the Albury and Wodonga Emergency Departments ARE NOT the best place to go unless you are critically unwell. If you’re worried you may have symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), call your GP in the first instance. By calling your GP before arriving they can take appropriate infection control measures. We will call Albury Wodonga Health if you are very unwell and organise for you to present to hospital. You can also call Albury Wodonga Health on (02) 6058 4444. You will not qualify for a Covid-19 swab unless you fit the criteria below: - If the patient satisfies both clinical and epidemiological criteria, they are classified as a suspected case: CLINICAL CRITERIA: Fever OR Acute respiratory infection (for example, shortness of breath or cough) with or without fever AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CRITERIA: International Travel in the 14 days before onset of illness OR Close contact in the 14 days before illness onset with a confirmed case of COVID-19. YACKANDANDH HEALTH MEDICAL CENTRE Phone: 0260 280 130.

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Yackandandah Health. We look forward to 2021 and we plan ahead to get back on track with a number of exciting initiatives across all areas of our organisation. 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us. Responding to the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that our focus has had to be on the safety and wellbeing, both physical and mental, of all our community, but in particular our residents, children and medical centre.... We have made many necessary changes to ensure that we have remained COVID safe. The threat of bushfires early in the year also presented its challenges. These circumstances have curtailed some of the goals we set ourselves at the beginning of the year. READ MORE: http://yackandandahhealth.com.au//merry-christmas-from-ya/
