25.01.2022 Thaddius Minnieconn, Jordan Diamond & Issac Mait are new art workers at Yalanji Arts. Over the past month since starting at the Art Shed, they've used the wood lathe to make these beautiful bowls & tea lights. What a fantastic start!! The guys are learning these skills from local wood artist Graham Davis.

16.01.2022 Last week we had a visit to the Art Shed from the current group of residential trainees working at the Mossman Gorge Training Centre. They were such a great bunch of people from places as far north as Ayr (QLD), and as far south as Mildura (VIC). It was great to meet them, and Deb Simpson, who is the Learning Development Coordinator. And it was fantastic to see our own Sheryl Burchill too who now works at MGVC (and we miss heaps!) The pics show us talking to the trainees about our ceramics, wood and mixed media works and on the steps at the back of the Art Shed. We wish the trainees all the best and say 'thanks' for the visit!

15.01.2022 The wood team at Yalanji Arts are going great guns! Demilio Denman and Lawrence Waigana have perfected the painting of Yalanji designs, rainforest and sea creatures on boomerangs and bull roarers and Robert Oui has become skilled at cutting, shaping, sanding and finishing these wood pieces. The items will be for sale through the Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre. Great team effort!!

15.01.2022 This week four of the other artists have started making large sculptural ceramic works. Here's Uki Burchill ( who is also a new team member!), Vanessa Cannon, Demilio Denman & Lawrence Waigana with works in progress. We are so fortunate to be working with Ellen Terrell from Daintree on these pieces.

10.01.2022 Over the last 6 weeks, we have been working with our teacher Ellen Terrell at the Douglas Art Base in Mossman. Check us out with Ellen & some of the fab bowls we've been making.

09.01.2022 So excited to see new works emerging from our very talented Artist Vanessa Cannon! Just incredible. #watchthisspace #yalanjiarts #indigenousart #ceramics #vanessacannon #cassowary

08.01.2022 Huge thanks to Delwyn & Jane, two lawyers from Arts Law who visited Yalanji Arts last week. They spoke to the artists about copyright, moral rights, agreements, royalties and how to make a will. Such important information and a fantastic service provided by this organisation. We are really grateful to Arts Law for the visit - & it was great to meet Delwyn & Jane!

03.01.2022 Over the last year Yalanji Arts has been fortunate to collaborate with Corban & Blair, a super creative Sydney based company that designs and makes stylish and well crafted products for home and business. Check out below to see their latest promotion of the Yalanji Arts 'MADJA' ceramics range. http://eepurl.com/bhuX3v
