20.01.2022 The Indian Ocean Longboard Club in WA runs the annual Yallingup Malibu Classic, or "YalMal" as we have come to lovingly know it. One of Australia's longest-running Longboard competitions, 2014 was the 30th anniversary of the event.

10.01.2022 The defibrillator unit that was purchased by the Indian Ocean Longboard club from the proceeds of past Yal Mal’s has now been relocated to the toilet block at Y...allingup beach car park. The original location was at the Yallingup Beach Holiday Park , one of the longest standing supporters of the Yallingup Malibu classic. We obtained permission to move the unit closer to where it may be needed in an emergency. It is available for use by the whole community. Hopefully we will not need it but it is great piece of mind for the whole community just in case. Thanks to everyone who has ever entered a past Yal Mal, worked on the committee, sponsored the event, or helped out in some way, your contributions may help to save a life one day.

05.01.2022 Surfing WA needs everyone’s help. There is a new building being planned and will be located further south of their current location and in the middle of car parks between Scarborough and Trigg. The plan is to locate the new building there however there is some grassed area there and people are objecting to the grassed area being taken over by the new building. It is a small area of grass which isn’t occupied too much so it makes sense to house the new SWA building there. This... building will be used 12 months of the year, not like the Surf life saving clubs that use their club houses 6-7 months of the year. SWA operate the largest international sporting event in WA that being the Margaret River Pro. They currently operate out of an office basically the size of two double car garages. They need your help to get new premises which are way overdue. Please go to the City of Stirling website and go to Your Say Stirling and once on that page scroll down to SWA Proposed HQ.
