23.01.2022 Yamaji Art attended the NAIDOC career development Expo Day at Geraldton Senior High School today, we had an information booth & some of our art products were proudly displayed. We strongly encourgae our youth to consider a career in the arts industry. Be it as a practicing artist, arts administration or within an institution such as galleries and museums as curators. The Aboriginal arts industry is important to keep going and developing as it is a keeper of our stories, cultu...re and language. The next generation plays a key role in ensuring its survival. 13.01.2022 Yamaji art are so proud to announce that after almost 3 years working with the mint that a limited edition coin has been released. The coin is adorned with artwork by Christine Collard - Seven Jijas. The coin shares the sky story of the Nyarluwarri (seven sisters) which is a cluster of stars in the constellation Pledis. 11.01.2022 This discussion, along with many others across various sectors, continues. Why are existing and long term established Indigenous organisations/institutions/business never supported to 1) build capacity or 2) expand their human and physical resources in order to continue delivering what they do? Why do certain agencies always want to start all over again and support Non-Indigenous systems?
