10.01.2022 If the Harlem Globetrotters played it might look like this! Thirteen passes in less than 30 seconds! Bath Rugby produced this little piece of magic #OnThisDay in 2019.
10.01.2022 On the 5th of April in 2010, Easter Monday, I found myself driving down to Sydney with my mum. I didn't have a job lined up. I was going to live with a strange...r, and I'd reconnected with my club rugby team, the Warringah Rats. I had a goal and a plan. Earlier that year on the 24th of January whilst playing in the Italian third division, my brother, Dan, was coming over to see me and passed away in London. So having moved back and obviously having the funeral I found myself out in Bourke, western New South Wales doing some labouring with a mate 'til I found my feet and decided, what was it that I really wanted. What did I want to go and do next? I was confused, anxious, lost and had no idea. And that time out there gave me an opportunity to step away and reassess what exactly I did want to do with my life, and also my career? It was only in 2008 that I had played in a Super Rugby final and then at the end of 2009, I'd moved over to Italy to play in the Italian third division. After a few weeks back in Sydney I got a job as a rubbish collector. I also went back to university full time. I was fortunate enough to find myself at the end of the year up at the Queensland Reds. I got an opportunity to go and train up there with the squad. Now I wasn't getting paid, it was literally a training opportunity, and I was working in a pub part-time to make ends meet. And I was fortunate we went on to win the Super Rugby title in 2011 and I even played for my country. So having from being, playing in the Super Rugby final in 2008, 2010 losing my brother and then 2011 playing and winning a Super Rugby title and playing for my country, I guess you could say I understand what it takes, and the mindset needed, to get back to the top, and what you have to go through. For me, that was 3 things when it came to mindset: realistic, positive and optimistic. These 3 things combined with a goal, and a plan, and for me, it ended up having to be my plan B. Firstly, you need to be realistic, there's no point fighting the situation or position that you find yourself in, you have to accept that. That's the first thing you have to do. Positive? What’s there to be positive about? I was positive and grateful about what I had and what I still had in terms of the experiences with my brother for 21 years and the memories we forged. I still had my father, my mother and my sister. . You will also need a good dose of optimism. I said to myself; well I can still go and play Super Rugby, I can still have a crack at that, and I believe can, achieve that. It was always something to look forward to and I was optimistic, and I truly believed that I could get back there and that I deserved to be there. That kept me going, that kept the fire in the belly for moving forward. No matter where you find yourself at, you will have the opportunity, which starts with your mindset and your attitude, to get back to the top. So, for me the coronavirus is not something that I need to get stressed or frustrated about. I'm calm, I'm composed, and I'm in control, in control of what I can control. People think we need to manage our business or our people. First and foremost, we need to manage ourselves, our emotions and our mindset. Do not underestimate the power and importance of that, I can assure you. I hope that my story and experience and sharing that with you will hopefully change your perspective and your outlook in terms of what you do have, what you're going through and what the future holds. Those who will come through this will be stronger for it. I guarantee when you go through something like this you will be stronger for it, but you will have to be realistic, positive and optimistic. 09.01.2022 In the immortal words of the 12th man, That’s Australian gold my friends and don’t you forget it! For those that can’t access the story, Rugby Australia has decided Wallabies jerseys of the future will be the same colour as the 1991 Wallabies jersey. https://www.smh.com.au//epic-tiebreaker-sees-1991-wallabie
09.01.2022 I have received a large amount of information today regarding the return to play plan from Rugby NSW. We have been given the green light to return to training NON CONTACT (once approval from council has been given to us). There are a HUGE number of procedures we need to follow. Moving forward as a club we are meeting with all coaches next week. Please stay tuned & follow for more information. My plan is to begin training in June (date to be confirmed) - there is no set dat...e to return to play as yet but won't be far off. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. See more

09.01.2022 Congratulations to 2 of our Under 14 Buccaneer’s who trialled last night & were selected in the 2021 Far North Coast team:- Tui Simpson & Cooper Olsen. It was a very tough job for the selectors & hard after such a long break. Good luck to our other Junior Buccaneers still trialling in other age groups.
08.01.2022 For rugby folk, this ranks as one of the better viruses going around. If you’re missing footy like I am...
07.01.2022 1984 - Counties vs France at Pukekohe Back when the touring team finished a tour after the final test match, this game played three days later. Was a cracker of a game with a few incidents, the pushing of the referee by the French and an awful head clash.
04.01.2022 Nobody has a divine right to go on forever. Nigel Owens has officially retired from international rugby. What an absolute legend.
04.01.2022 This is definitely the greatest Haka of all time. Spine-tingling stuff.
03.01.2022 6pm Thursday 21/1 @ Turners Beach Yamba. Seniors training. Bring towel, joggers & water. ... Fitness!! Buccs2021
01.01.2022 Just so we don’t forget what’s required for each position... who’s a shining example of their player description?? 1 Loose head Prop: Moderately tall fat lad, often aggressive when something obstructs way to bar, pie shop and occasionally a ruck. Does weights- no one knows why 2 Hooker: short fat lad with endless capacity for cheap booze and fascinated by women miles out of his league. Believes he has rugby nous and is an athlete... 3 Tight head Prop: fat lad who believes he’s technically a good player with good hands. Everyone else thinks he just gets in the way. Does weights, no one notices 4 Lock: big hard lad who thinks he’s the enforcer. Police describe him as hooligan. Wears shorts and flip flops all year round, lives with his mum 5 Lock: Giraffe, looks funny when he runs. Long arms useful in bar, takes up too much space. Often very fit and yet last to arrive at breakdown 6 Blindside flanker: proper hard man, can disappear for 80 minutes but emerge holding someone’s scrotum. Never buys a round 7 Openside flanker: glory boy often with psychotic tendencies. Will spend a lot of time in A&E but when present can carry a team. Often unpopular or young. Or both 8 Number 8: big bastard; talks a good game and describes himself as a footballer. Often vain, sometimes scruffy, generally can’t hold their drink and have weird hobbies or jobs. Handy in a scuffle but best avoided socially. 9 scrum half. Gobby midget who can get himself into trouble marginally faster than he can run away from it. Nothing is his fault. Good drinker 10 fly half: there are two sorts, running or kicking. Generally they don’t know which one they are until it’s too late. Unusually nice hair and over confident in every situation until it’s too late. 11 left wing: lanky speed merchant. Can’t catch. Live in a world of their own and always forget one item of kit, often boots 12 inside centre: often the best player on the pitch as well as the fittest. Limited social skills and terrified of women until the beer kicks in 13 outside centre: does everything the 12 doesn’t. Socially active and often juggling multiple women. Has nice car, good job and demanding fitness regime as well as extensive debts and improbably large porn collection 14 right wing: the only reason he doesn’t score 10 tries in every game is because no one can pass. Often a big lad who really looks the part and yet never quite has the impact you hope for. Doesn’t drink 15 full back: 90% of them should be shot at dawn for cowardice. Last line of defence my arse. Secretly want to play at 10 and buys the skipper lots of pints. Too many hair products but useful source of spare socks and toiletries at away games.
01.01.2022 Well done to our Under 10’s who were lucky enough to get their game in on Friday night at Casino. Winning 12-0. Tries scored by Jarris Mitchell & Finn Brossman Great work guys. All other games were a wash-out unfortunately.
