23.01.2022 We regret to advise that the Yamba Museum will close from today as part of the strategy to minimise the spread of COVID-19. While visitor numbers are generally very modest we also have to consider the welfare of our volunteers, some of whom fall into at risk categories. We hope you understand. The decision will be reviewed in late April. We want to reopen as soon as it is practicable to do so.

11.01.2022 These guys are the real stars of the show. This photo is of the original Kiosk in the late fifties. The shop was then owned by Henry Teece, what a beauty! Thanks to Marie Leonard for the photo!

07.01.2022 We have unearthed some treasures in the last few weeks. These Yamba Golf Club magazines from 1976 & 1977 are illustrated throughout by Keith. They gave us some ...laughs & fond reminiscences looking through them. They will be on display at Yamba library & Yamba Museum throughout the Yamba Years exhibition. See more

04.01.2022 The Keith Howland Retrospective comes to the museum next year as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations

03.01.2022 Keep an eye out ! Big things about to happen! This week work will commence on landscaping at the front and northern side of the museum. There will be a formalised drive and car park , upgraded pathways and most importantly upgraded gardens incorporating art works from our Yaegl community . The garden in effect will be our new first room dedicated to the people who have called Yamba home for thousands of years. Can’t wait till we are able to reopen and share !

01.01.2022 In a meeting with Port of Yamba Historical Society Wednesday afternoon we decided unanimously to postpone the Keith Howland-His Yamba Years, exhibition until ne...xt year. Yamba Museum closed Wednesday afternoon until at least the end of April as a response to the COVID-19 virus. 2021 is actually the 40th anniversary of the founding of Port of Yamba Historical Society and given that Keith was a founding member, we are very excited about holding the exhibition at this time as part of those celebrations. 01.01.2022 Landslip is not new to Yamba. In 1950 a large section of the Pacific Hotel was destroyed by landslip over approximately 3 weeks. It took 6 months to rebuild , but I'm reliably informed the public bar traded throughout ! For more pictures come and see us at the museum.
