22.01.2022 A little Panda yoga to brighten your day #yogaforallbodies A gentle reminder to find the childish playfulness within you, a place of innocence and acceptance and kindness. Breathe into uncertainty and notice that you can also find comfort in that space. L x @ Scarborough, Western Australia

19.01.2022 But intimacy as such will remain invisible, irreducible to appropriation, and thus strange to the logic of Western discourse, to the logos, except in its delusion its lack, its derelictions and artificial ecstasies. Intimacy allows itself neither to be seen nor to be seized. Nevertheless it is probably the core of our being. And any attempts to appropriate it risks annihilating being itself. However, it is not a question of magic, of irrationalit...y, of madness--it is a question of touch. Luce Irigaray #massageforthesoul See more

16.01.2022 Your silence exists as does my self gathering. But so does the almost absolute silence of the world's dawning. In such suspension, before every utterance on earth, there is a cloud, an almost immobile air. The plants already breathe, while we still ask ourselves how to speak to each other, without taking breath away from them. ... ~ Luce Irigaray Blossoms from Broome time with the fam in #thekimberley. Golden words from my beloved poet, L.I. who writes prose so lovely that I must re-read passages just to be enchanted all over again. #poetry #broome #naturalworld #earthday See more

13.01.2022 Ahimsa ~~~ Ahimsa means non-violence and compassion, and refers to a key virtue in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, and one of the ethical notions in Patanjali's 8 Fold Path. The word is derived from the Sanskrit root his to strike; his is injury or harm, a-his is the opposite of this. Ahimsa can be applied to all living things, our surroundings and ourselves in both thought and action, within and outside of our practice. When bringing a...himsa to our Yoga practice, we can consider the following: - Accept where you are at this point in time with your yoga. Embrace falling out of a pose with a smile - enjoy testing your balance and strength. - Know where you are at in your development. Don’t over extend yourself where you’re not ready for it. Enjoy the challenges, where you find them in your practice, without pushing yourself too far. - Acknowledge when your body needs rest or is unwell. While regular practice is wonderful for the mind and body, sometimes taking the day off and stepping back into stillness is what is needed. Enjoy the space between where you are and where you want to be. L x #ahimsa #livingyoga #practice #lovingkindness #yoga #yogaperth #stillness #yogaforall #patanjali See more

10.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all the Mamas out there, past, present, and future. For all the women in my life who have mothered me, my Ma and Gma especially, I hold immense gratitude. Thank you for your love and nourishment, your wisdom, and your divine devotion. ... When I remember my Self, I remember you.

10.01.2022 reflection + (re)action = refraction Yoga is a powerful method for seeing ourselves clearly. It doesn't always have to be a deep and thorough self-enquiry, but invariably when we spend time moving, feeling, and breathing; when we spend time Being in our bodies, observing our minds, we learn about ourselves through these lenses. A self-exploration, sometimes gentle, sometimes fuelled by Tapas (inner fire).... Always expansive. L x See more

05.01.2022 CO-EXISTENCE What does it mean to exist in this paradigm? My feeling is that it presents a great opportunity for us to examine our sense of connection - with our homes, our pets, our partners, neighbours, communites, with the natural world, and with our bodies (physical / mental / esoteric).... By examining the ways in which we are extrinsically connected to the world around and within us, we can come to view our existence from a more holistic perspective; which is really what we all need right now. Go within, and take it lightly. #weareallinthistogether #humanconnection #prana #onbeing #livingyoga See more

04.01.2022 CREATIVE WAYS TO RE-USE A YOGA MAT Glue cut pieces to the bottom of beautiful ceramic tiles to make hot pads as gifts, or use as liner under house plants. Cut to fit closet floors or draws as liners, or help dog & cat dishes stay put. Make children's toys: cut to make frisbees or create masks/hat/costumes.... Put one between your surfboard & car to protect both from abrasion. When camping, use as a "door mat" outside your tent or under your sleeping bag for extra padding. Protect surfaces or use as non-slip gripper on stainless steel or floors. Donate to homeless shelters as sleeping pads. Keeping an old yoga mat in the car is great for those spur of the moment picnics. See more

01.01.2022 My gracious Grandma, soaking in New Zealand's fervent beauty (One Can Sam who?). She inspires me to live positively, with a light heart. I'm lucky she's safe at home, even though I can't give her a hug. I'm grateful that one day I'll be able to squeeze her to bits and smell her perfume. John O'Donoghue wrote of time "Possibility is the secret heart of time. On it's outer surface, ... time is vulnerable to transience, but in it's deeper heart, time is transfiguration." This change is an invitation to allow ourselves to be comfortable with the transience of all things, and to allow it to transform us for the better. We don't have to figure it all out. Be sensible, appriase your information sources, be considerate. Keep being kind, even when it's hard. This is poetry (and possibility) in motion. All will be well, says time. All will be well.
