24.01.2022 Thanks, Australia for stepping up in tough times to protect our community.

23.01.2022 Easter is usually a time for public celebrations, gathering with family and friends or for travelling, but this year is different. This year, Easter needs to be... spent in your home We've all worked really hard to slow the spread, and that progress could be completely undone if we go out this Easter. We’ve seen this overseas, where festivals or public celebrations were the start of an outbreak that got out of control very quickly. We can’t have that happen here. We want to thank Queenslanders for adjusting to change, and for your patience and kindness during these tough times. We will get through this together. We’ve got some tips on how you can continue the joy, celebrations and connectedness this Easter in different ways: > Camp or picnic in your back yard. > Set up an Easter Egg Hunt around your house and yard. > Host a virtual Easter dinner line up friends and family to cook the same meal. > Have an Easter arts and crafts day with the kids. > Bake Easter goodies and deliver them to your neighbours by placing them at their doors. > Get those DIY or spring-cleaning jobs finished. > Help others volunteer, give blood, or join Queensland’s Care Army. > Practise selfcare read a book, exercise, meditate, take a bath, or call a friend or relative. > Try something new a new recipe, walk a different path, or start a new at-home hobby.

22.01.2022 Although you might not be able to visit your friends or loved ones right now, make checking in a priority. We've created this post of #ViralKindess for you to... pass on to someone in your life, to let them know that although you're apart, you're thinking about them. (Why not use this opportunity to organise a regular time to call, video chat or text too?) #SlowTheSpread See more

22.01.2022 Reclaim your weekend! Just because your situation is different right now doesn't mean you still can't make the most of your free time Friday night to Sunday. What are you doing to stay healthy and happy this weekend?

22.01.2022 In the last 12 months, 49% of Queenslanders were sunburnt. Remember: even mild sunburn can cause permanent damage to your skin! Slip, slop, slap, seek and slide every time you go outdoors

22.01.2022 Feeling under the weather? Even if you're only experiencing mild symptoms, please stay at home and avoid public places . If we all work together and stay at ho...me when we're sick, we're not only protecting ourselves, but also those around us. From the person you would have sat next to on the train, to the person who may have served you your coffee; they're all going to thank you for being responsible, stopping the spread and staying at home If you're showing signs of coronavirus (COVID-19), you should go and get tested and then return home.

21.01.2022 There are lots of simple things that you can do at home each day to look after your physical and mental wellbeing. Choose one of these activities to do today! #MotivationMonday

20.01.2022 Hey Queensland, we're investing $250 million to get non-urgent surgeries and appointments back on track. As part of our COVID-19 response, around 50% of non-urg...ent procedures were postponed. This helped us to ensure our hospitals were ready to respond to the pandemic. While urgent elective surgeries continued, many non-urgent patients had their surgeries put on hold . There was also an impact on outpatient appointments and referrals. Because of this new investment, and the all of the hard work Queenslanders put in to help us flatten the curve, we can now work towards getting non-urgent surgeries and appointments back to pre-COVID levels. We will be working over and above our usual levels of activity, and in partnership with the private sector. It may take up to 12 months to clear the backlog, but could be longer if we have further disruption to our system, such as a second wave of COVID-19 cases. Queenslanders who have had to wait for non-urgent procedures will be contacted directly by their hospital. If you have questions about your care, it’s important to speak to your treating physician.

20.01.2022 Heading to a big event? Take a mask with you. When attending a big event or travelling on public transport its strongly recommend you wear a mask especially w...hen entering, exiting or moving through areas where lots of people are gathered. We understand there are situations where you may not be able to maintain social distancing, and wearing a mask can give you added protection. Along with a mask, it's also really important to follow the other COVID safe behaviours, including: Washing hands often and thoroughly Maintaining social distancing Covering coughs or sneezes Staying at home if unwell Getting tested if you're showing any signs of COVID-19.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 and exercising outdoors: It's awesome to see Queenslanders are still prioritising physical activity and want to exercise outside, so we wanted to co...nfirm that under the current public health directions you are allowed to leave your house to exercise So that everyone can enjoy their time outside safely, it’s important that you practise social distancing while exercising. This means staying at least 1.5 metres away from other people. Keep this in mind while sharing footpaths, running paths and park spaces: if you could both reach out and touch each other, you’re too close. If necessary, you should move off paths to a safe area if you can’t maintain the right distance from others

18.01.2022 Tomorrow is Vitamin C Day! Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for bodies young and old as it helps support the immune system and keeps bones, joints and blood vessels healthy. Fruits and vegetables are great sources of vitamin C, here are a few examples!

04.01.2022 Queensland, your health is important and should not be neglected. If and when you need us, our team of health professionals are here and ready to help you. We'v...e listed some important reminders below: It's important that you go to your usual, confirmed doctors appointments - your health care provider is expecting to see you. This can be via telehealth or a face-to-face consultation. Your health and safety is our highest priority. If you require emergency care, our hospitals and emergency departments are open, safe and well prepared to look after you. In an emergency situation call triple zero (000) immediately. If you're experiencing symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), please contact your doctor immediately. Our facilities have strict COVID-19 infection prevention instructions and our wonderful health care professionals are there to help you.

03.01.2022 The Australian Government has expanded Medicare-subsidised telehealth services for all Australians. This expansion to telehealth means that people will now have... access to essential health services in their home. This will support self-isolation and quarantine policies to reduce the risk of exposure and spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and will also help vulnerable doctors to continue to deliver services. We encourage Queenslanders to talk to their regular general practitioner about whether telehealth is an appropriate option for them. We've listed some of the available services below

02.01.2022 UPDATED HEALTH ADVICE To help prevent any further spread of COVID-19, Queenslanders must minimise the number of people they come into contact with. O...nly leave your home if it’s absolutely necessary. You can do so with members of your household or with one other person who is not a member of your household. Permitted reasons to leave your home are listed below. For a residence or household, the number of people allowed to gather in that house is limited to the usual members of that household, plus two other visitors who are family or close friends. We strongly urge people aged over 70, anybody over 65 with a chronic disease, and Indigenous people over 50 to stay at home for their own protection. You are now only allowed to leave your home if absolutely necessary for the following permitted reasons. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in a fine up to $1,330 for individuals and $6,670 for corporations. > To obtain essential goods and services > Receive medical treatment or health care services > Exercise > Do work or volunteering that is essential and cannot be done from home (this is any type of work that is not restricted under the latest ‘non-essential business activity and undertaking closure’ direction) > Visit another person’s home, as long as there are no more than 2 visitors who do not usually live there > Visit a terminally ill relative or attend a funeral > Assist, care for or support immediate family members > Attend a Court or tribunal or comply with a Court or tribunal order > Attend a childcare facility, school, university, or other educational institution to receive instruction that is not possible to receive at home > Assist with an investigation by police or other law enforcement authority > All shared custody arrangements of children under 18 years of age, whether informal or court-ordered, can continue as normal. You are allowed to leave home to take children from one parent’s home to the other parent’s home > To avoid illness, injury or the risk of harm > To comply with directions of a government agency.
