25.01.2022 For our students who are between 11 and 17 years old ...

24.01.2022 Charlie and Emily Soper went to Oakbank last week for the SAPSASA Cross Country State Championship. Despite the weather being very cold, Charlie finished 14th in a field of 180 in the 11 year old boys and Emily finished 91st in a group of over 174 in the 10 year old girls competition. A fantastic effort. Well done!

23.01.2022 Y 4-7 Sss As Unfortunately the Year 4-7 Sapsasa Athletics trial that was meant to go ahead yesterday was cancelled due to poor weather. It will be rescheduled to a day in Term 4 Week 1. Bs T 6/7 Bs & 6/7 Gs Basketball trainings will be held at recess time in Weeks 1 and 2 next term. Dates will be advised. The boy’s team has been selected from expressions of interest. Due to the overwhelming response the girl’s team will consist of year 7 students. Year 6 girls are invited to attend trainings and may be selected to be part of the team or a reserve if numbers allow.

23.01.2022 Today Christine had two visitors call in for a visit, Lynette Sanchez and David Turner, who she knows from the APY Lands. They very generously donated to our school two paintings done by artists from the lands. Some of our ATSI students came in to have a look and Jaykob spoke with Lynette about his interpretation of the paintings. We are very grateful - thank you Lynette and David.

21.01.2022 Letters have been emailed to families regarding changes to the Whole School Family Celebration Day and Year 12 Presentation Night and Formal planned for Week 8. 20.01.2022 A copy of the 2021 Year 8 - 12 Stationery and Book List has been emailed to families and uploaded to our website at www.yankas.sa.edu.au/finance Please ensure that students commence Term 1 2021 with requirements as listed (*Stage 2 students can check with their elective subject teacher in Week 1 of Term 1 to determine specific requirements).

20.01.2022 Bu Ellin’s drama group hosted a Rotation Assembly yesterday. It was a great showcase of the work you do in Rotation. Well done

17.01.2022 EKG / Science activities with the Year 2-3 classes. Winter harvesting of summer/autumn produce - students were able to take home tomatoes and potatoes. Many of our tomatoes went to Home Economics for making tomato relish. Any insect-affected produce went to our livestock including our pig and chickens. On a rainy-day, students studied the life cycle of plants, exploring seeds and helped with seed saving of Rocket, Bean and Pak Choy seeds.

17.01.2022 Today our Junior and Middle School Student Leaders are job shadowing Mrs Bell. This morning Ruby and Caleb conducted a Teacher Observation and then provided feedback to our 3/4A Teacher, Ms Hartwell. 17.01.2022 As we head towards our final term of 2020 planning for the 2021 school year steps up. In the first few weeks of Term 4 we will be holding Parent Information Sessions for the families of 2021 Reception and Year 8 students. 16.01.2022 We were pleased to welcome our students back to school this morning. I am sure that, like us, you have plenty of questions about events, visitors, volunteers, etc as we move forward in our final few weeks of school for 2020. Please be patient with us while we work out what effect the 'Circuit Breaker' lock-down has had on our plans for the Year 12 Formal, Year 12 Presentation Night and End of Year Family Celebration Day.... 10.01.2022 Congratulations to our finalists of the Lions Speaking Contest held yesterday and well done to all participants for their efforts. It was a difficult job for the judges. We thank the Yankalilla & District Lions Club for their ongoing support.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately our Connections Fishing Charter with https://www.facebook.com/gary.fleurieucharters has been postponed until next term due to the weather here at the Cape. We will still take our students from this round but probably in week 2 or 3. Let's allow those fish to grow a bit more before we tackle them.
