24.01.2022 Decided to play around with a bit of colour today and create a Smokey orange eye to compliment the oranges in my dress. Reds, yellows and oranges make some people nervous as eye colours not sure how to work with them but I recommend not saying away from playing with colours. It's just makeup and if you don't love it you can wash it off and start again. Lava Shimmer shadowsense is one of my very fav metallic oranges to play with.

24.01.2022 This bright and cheery squiggle dress from @littlepartydress has become a fav of mine, party cause it's so bright and colourful and partly cause it's light and cool on days that are getting warmer like today! Paired it up with some @snagtights in shepherds delight, my fav pair of @djangoandjuliette boots and some bangles and was terribly pleased when my freshly washed hair decided to do things I liked today. Hope your day is bright and cheery or that if it's not that tomorrow is slightly better!

23.01.2022 Husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary yesterday...time flies! As wool is the traditional gift I fingerknitted up this big weighted blanket as a gift...it's delightfully snuggly! Anyone else enjoy weighted blankets?

23.01.2022 I'm absolutely in love with the remodeling job @adahodgson did of my wedding ring for me. My old wedding band and engagement rings had gotten far too large to wear a while back and because of the setting it wouldn't have been able to size down as much as needed so instead I designed a new ring with Ada using the stones from my old ones and I'm so pleased with the result and the process of working with her over the internet with the restrictions in place she made so easy and communication was fantastic. She makes beautiful jewellery and I highly recommend checking her out

22.01.2022 Nice little shout out on the front page of this week's edition of The Geelong Independent on all the fun masks I've been making lately I've got a big batch of new ones due to go up on my website Yankeesweetheartshop.com tomorrow so if you missed out the last couple times or want to grab some new designs I am aiming to have them up with most designs restocked and some new ones by noon Saturday August 8th. 21.01.2022 For those who've followed along with some of my exercise related adventures you may have wondered why I stopped roller skating or doing aerial yoga and the like and the little bub I'm growing is the reason I've scaled back on high fall risk activities. Hopefully I can take it back up again after baby is born and I'm feeling up to it cause roller skating was getting very fun! In the meanwhile I've been doing lots of yoga, hiking, hiit and weight training, belly dancing classes and since the pools reopened swimming has been back on the agenda, which I love and also gives me a reason to bust out all my cute swimwear. I love this suit I got from @sourpussclothing a while back What are some preggo exercise activities you enjoyed or recommend trying out?

14.01.2022 Happy Sunday peeps! Orange and blue is a fav colour combo of mine. Like most colours opposite one another on the colour wheel they tend to compliment one another. I often recommend people with blue eyes give orange and rust colours in eye shadows a go if they really want to make the blue in their eyes pop. Do you have a fav colour combo conventional or contrasting? My husband seems the think blue and green don't go together...but we will have to agree to disagree

14.01.2022 Sometimes what you see on social media isn't always the whole picture. We all know people like to show just the snippets they want people to see, use the best filters and even edit images to be more flattering or distort reality. Sometimes lighting can make all the difference. Or in my case it's been all about the Angles! From the right angles I've been able to share the exciting news that we're expecting a new tiny person in May next year with just the friends and family... and clients I see in person and decide when I wanted to share it with the wide world of my web friends at my leisure and I've decided today is that day! 13.01.2022 Because I have zero problem tooting my own horn I have to show off this gorgeous lemon meringue pie I just baked cause it looks and smells divine! Friend of our brought us a heap of lemons from his tree and we have lots of eggs from the chickens at the moment so I could think of nothing better to do with them. The hard part is now waiting for it to cool!!

11.01.2022 Ping gingham and Red Ruby Lippy is a pretty decent way to start the day if you ask me. Little bit by little bit as we have more freedoms to go visit one another and cafe's and such I am enjoying having places to get spruced up and go out to. How bout you? 08.01.2022 I do so enjoy getting all gussied up and going out on the town! I'm so grateful everyone's been doing their part to help us all get to a point where there is a town to attend! A fab night was had at the @pianobargeelong event at @geelongracecourse this eve with new and old friends and my handsome fella. If you're in a place and position that allows you to support your local venues or cafes I urge you to do so if you're able. They'll appreciate the business and you'll realise how much you missed going out in the world!

05.01.2022 Today is gonna be a hot one here so I'm super pleased I received my latest order from @snagtights I got heaps of their chub rub shorts in lots of fun colours to wear under dresses for the summer and have to say I'm loving them so far. The material is the same soft stuff as their tights with a band round the thigh similar to the waist band to keep them from rolling up. Nice flash of colour too if the wind kicks your skirt up! Shout out to @aussieconvenience as well! They rec...ently opened a shop here in Geelong on Ryrie street full of all the American snack foods you could desire! I got my hands on some red vines after wanting some for ages and am definitely a happy camper! Felt like being matchy matchy so paired my look with Plumeria LipSense and Hibiscus shadowsense. Stay comfy out there folks! And remember not to walk your pups on the sidewalk on hot days like today so they don't burn their paws! See more

05.01.2022 I always love seeing little bits of history. The original owners of our home were doing some family history work and got in touch with a pic of the home when they moved into it as a new house in 1964. The inside has had a lot of updates but the outside is much the same as the day it was built we've started planting an fruit orchard in the front but other than that it's much the same. So fun to see what changes and what stays the same as the years go past.

02.01.2022 So grateful we are able to get together with some of our family and friends this holiday season. We are a lot luckier than many and definitely not taking it for granted...enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch at @provenance_wines In fyansford with the fam. It's always fun to have a gathering to dress up for and I snapped up a couple of great pieces from @joanieclothing a fab UK based company, during the black Friday sales. I've been wanting to get some items from them over the yea...rs but with the exchange rate and shipping it's not always the most affordable but I was so pleased to be able to take advantage of the good deals and try out their wares and I'm definitely not disappointed! The quality is lovely and they are true to size charting. I've been wanting to acquire a few new dresses that will be able to transition through pregnancy and into breastfeeding as so many items meds specifically for the task are so not my style. I will share the other fashion finds with you soon when I get round to wearing them. 01.01.2022 Orange you glad It's the weekend! Yesterday preggo fatigue kicked my butt but overall I've felt so well so much of the time I can't really complain. Fortunately a day of rest and a good night sleep has me back in action today. Picked up this orange linen dress which is super comfy and light at @kmartaus for a couple bucks on clearance and I love it's bright tangerine colour. It always cracks me up when I post something from Kmart how all the Americans are like "WHAAAT!? KMART!? REALLY!?" I know! I was surprised myself but here they have a lot of fun stuff and are a great option for affordable trendy basics. Whoda thunk it!
