23.01.2022 Adapting to these times has sure been a challenge. If we were to compare to pre-Covid-19, we are probably working twice as hard for half as much. But in the overall scheme of things, this challenge is one we are really lucky to have. To work and pay bills is an underrated pleasure in itself, especially when it involves cooking food for people to enjoy in their own homes. Just ask all those hospitality workers who can’t work right now. Thanks to all our customers, the loyal f...aithful and the new ones we’ve served during this time too! And of course to our team who work tirelessly! So we will be making some changes to our schedule. We are going to return to a 5 day operation, Wednesday to Sunday but still include lunch on all those days. Stay tuned for more exciting news coming your way too!

18.01.2022 Exciting news! Yan will also be serving takeaway dinners from @johnmontagu, Woolloomooloo, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. As the kitchen equipment differs, it’ll be a slightly smaller menu. So if you live in or around the city, here’s a great chance to get Yan at home. Follow @johnmontagu for updates on the menu and how to order in the coming days.

16.01.2022 Our outdoor seats are under cover, heated and are not restricted to sitting times. Tables are usually available online for booking.

15.01.2022 Our wine suppliers generally only service restaurants, so they obviously are having a hard time moving the stock! Our bottles that normally sell for $65+ in the restaurant, can be picked up for just $35 for the time being! Order online and yes we deliver too.

12.01.2022 FYI you can now reserve a table at John Montagu in Woolloomooloo for your Yan fix. The menu is slightly smaller but most of the usual favourites are available. Bookings available on our website for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Maximum 6 guests.

12.01.2022 From tomorrow night we will start taking bookings of up to 10 people, at 7.30 only. To stay trading, we obviously need to keep T/A and delivery going, so having just one sitting, with most take out orders already completed, we are confident we can deliver a good service for you all. 07.01.2022 Originally inspired by drunken chicken, we’ve created a smoked rum chicken broth. Great as a starting dish on a cold winter evening.
