18.01.2022 Some super keen committee members headed out to Hearsons this morning to trial a swim under the same expected tide conditions forecasted for the event day. 4m tide looks spectacular! Swimming WA are here today as well checking out Hearsons. Can’t imagine they’ve ever come across a more iconic spot for a race!

We'll get into official thank you's and acknowledgements on this page in the coming days, but in the short term the Committee would love to extend a huge thank you to all the competitors. We know you would have preferred other conditions but thank you for your understanding in the requirements to amend the race during the day.

11.01.2022 Open Water swimming is a huge movement these days, with regular events most weekends in the metro area. Swimming WA are expanding to more regional areas each year and we’re excited to be the new kid on the block! 11.01.2022 So how far will you be able to swim we hear you ask? We'll be targeting distances of 250m, 600m and the Classic open division will be over 1.8km. We'll have a triangle course with a deep water start and beach finish in the middle of Hearson's. Time to pick you distance and start that training! And just for the kids we'll have a splash n dash race over 100m. Get them training too!

It’s fantastic that a partner from the Burrup is onboard and that you’ll even be able to see them when you take that breathe towards the shore! 02.01.2022 We think the 100 people who competed in last years Yara Burrup Classic would have talked about it for a long time. What an event. We’ll be hoping for slightly friendlier conditions on 9th May when we do it all again! Stay tuned as we release information but mark the date down!
