05.01.2022 We believe that the proposed NE link and the lack of an East West Tunnel will have DIRE CONSEQUENCES for inner eastern Melbourne. The Eastern freeway width is proposed to reach 20 LANES as people from Heidelberg, Greensborough and beyond will now pile on to an already well past capacity Eastern Freeway. We are thus concerned about the impact on Yarra Bend Park, Melbourne's largest inner urban bushland.... https://www.theage.com.au//parkland-among-casualties-as-ea It is disappointing that the government has seemingly NO PLAN for this - and on that matter WHY CAN'T we see something like the following? Other than of course, cost. Thanks to Barbara and Tina for bring this parkland bridge to our attention.
