24.01.2022 Dear Members, We are pleased to hear the latest State Government announcement regarding health clubs possibly re-opening on June 22nd. The details of the announ...cement are as follows: If community transmission rates continue to remain low and testing rates continue to remain high, we will look to further relax restrictions from 22 June. From that date, indoor fitness and recreation facilities will open with up to 20 people per space and up to 10 people per group or activity at any one time. We are working hard behind the scenes to prepare for our re-opening. 23.01.2022 TEAM OF THE ROUND - ROUND 12 Josh Raymer and Mitch Cross were the stars of this round with their incredible efforts. Raymers second ton of the season along with his figures of 3/36 allowed our 2s to narrowly defeat Altona by 3 runs, while Cross 5/36 helped our 1s hold off Altona by 7 runs.... A strong partnership on the weekend was between Luke Reid and Jamie Tapper, who were at the crease when our 1s were in trouble at 5/49. They put on 92 together and were a crucial part of our 1s posting a competitive total. While our 4s narrowly lost to Williamstown, our 3s were able to cement their finals spot with a 20 run victory. 23.01.2022 ***FINALS UPDATE*** In a weekend full of Grand Finals & Preliminary Finals we saw some mixed results! Some tough losses but also some superb victories! In the juniors, our U/11s came up short against Werribee in the Grand Final, ending a great season for the young group.... However, our U/13s had a fantastic Grand Final win over Williamstown Imperials. It was an awesome team effort - well done to all! In our seniors, the 5th XI lost to Sunshine United. It was a great year for the 5ths, with our juniors enjoying their cricket alongside their dads! In the final itself, young Hugo Speldewinde took 4 wickets & showed his talent! Our 3rd XI had an amazing win over Coburg to book their place in a Grand Final against Werribee. We bowled Coburg out for 72, with James Keenan (5/31) & Leo Attersall (4/22) doing the destruction. In the chase, we were in plenty of trouble at 7/33. However, Nathan Kelly (34) and Zach Koch (30) shared a fantastic partnership to see us over the line. In the 2nd innings, James Keenan (6/53) was the stand out again with the ball, while Kelly (45*) and Kanishk Bollu (37*) ensured a dominant victory. Our 1st XI came up short against a strong Werribee side. We won the toss & batted, recovering from 3/18 to post 9/241. Luke Reid (74) held the innings together, along with Jamie Tapper (55) and Josh Turner (50), who both stood out with impressive fifties. It was a great fight back from the middle order. With the ball, Werribees premier batsman got set & batted us out of the game, taking advantage of any errors. Despite the loss, our players should hold their heads high there were great contributions from all players throughout the season, with many fantastic team efforts displayed. We now look to get right behind our Third XI, as they take on Werribee this weekend. More details to come!

23.01.2022 CRICKET ON THE BIG SCREEN! If you want to watch the cricket today, or just want to get the kids out of the house, the Australia vs India test is playing at Yarraville Oval on our new big screen!

22.01.2022 SENIOR FINALS & VSDCA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP At the completion of the home & away season, we finished 4th in the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association Club Championship. Last year we finished 19th - a huge effort by all to get back in the top 5!... We now turn our attention to finals!

22.01.2022 Our First XI suffered a tough loss to a strong Kew outfit - however, there was one major shining light from the day. Archit Shukla scored a fantastic 115 against quality opposition - it was an innings that was full of class! Well done Archie - a breakout performance!

21.01.2022 U13 Premiers 20/21!! Congratulations to coach Brendan Denning and the team for a brilliant season

21.01.2022 BEST FINALS PERFORMANCES In the 1s, Josh Hahnel (40) and Luke Reid (38) were strong with the bat. Matt Groses 25 and 2/21 was also a crucial part for us in order to get the win. Mitch Cross was the main star dominating with the ball, claiming 4/17. Despite a 2s loss, Angus Cameron (25*) was a notable contributor with the bat.... In the 3s, Faraaz Abdul Sathaar was the best performer with a fantastic finals effort, making a patient and composed knock of 70 and taking 4/22 with the ball. Mitch Wood (32) and Andrew Ramadge (28) were notable performers despite a loss in the 4s. 5th XI batsman Brian Budlender was crucial for us to get the win with 88*.

17.01.2022 ***FINALS UPDATE*** We had great wins in the Firsts & Thirds in the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association, with both teams progressing through to Semi Finals. Unfortunately, our Seconds & Fourths fell short on the weekend - well done to all on a great season!... Our Fifth XI also won their Semi Final, and will now play Sunshine United in the WSCCCA G1 (One Day) Grand Final! In the Western Region Junior Cricket Association, our U/13 As & U/11 As are through to Grand Finals as well! Unfortunately, our U/17s & U/15s couldnt get the win against some strong opposition. Best of luck to all for the next stage of finals!

12.01.2022 BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISER T20 - JAMIE & JESS In the lead up to our T20 vs Yarraville Seddon Eagles tomorrow night, we wanted to highlight how itll be a special night for YCCs Jamie Tapper & his partner Jess Couser. Jamie has lined up in our First XI and has been a great addition to the club.... Jess is currently playing First XI for Melbourne Cricket Club in the Victoria Premier Cricket Womens Competition & has played for Lancashire & Warwickshire back home in the UK! The YCC faithful are very keen to see how the English pair perform. Best of luck to you both, as you add another chapter to your Australian adventure! Also - big shout out to Jamies club back in the UK (Bishopston CC) who have already donated $40 to the Bendigo Bank Bushfire fund!

12.01.2022 TEAM OF THE ROUND - ROUND 11 Our 2s & 3s achieved impressive wins on the weekend, with many players performing strongly with bat and ball for both sides. Unfortunately, our 4s fell agonisingly short by two runs and our 1s werent able to get over the line, despite Josh Hahnels excellent innings. ... Hahnsy was the star on the weekend as he lead the way in our 1s with a monumental knock of 118*! Check out the Team of the Round below

09.01.2022 TEAM OF THE ROUND - ROUND 13 Another successful week for the club as a win to our 2nd XI means we have all five teams in finals! In the 1s, Aidan Salvado and Josh Hahnel were able to put on a partnership of 102* to successfully chase down Meltons total of 191 with 9 wickets in hand.... Similarly, Josh Devlin and Bilal Khan combined with the bat to see our 3s over the line with 7 wickets in hand. Our 2s held off Melton by 6 runs to claim a finals spot, with Angus Cameron and Murray White performing strongly. Unfortunately, our 4s didnt get the win but young gun Spencer Wray impressed with a well made 59. Our 5s also had a win, finishing third on the ladder. Check out the Team of the Round below

05.01.2022 ***ARJUN UPDATE*** YCCs young leg-spinner has been performing very well for Victoria Metro at the Cricket Australia U/15 National Championships! Arjun has taken a wicket in every game he has played, while going at 3.45 per over - a fantastic effort in the one day format!... Vic Metro currently sit one game clear on top of the ladder, with one game left against last-placed Tasmania coming up tomorrow. A win could lead to a potential Grand Final on Thursday! We are all very proud of you & we are keen to see you do well - good luck!
