25.01.2022 Heres a lovely and wise message from our recent temporary crossing supervisor: (below) To Whom This May Concern, My name is Nick and I work as a School Crossing Supervisor for the Yarra Ranges Council. ... I have only been doing the job for just over a month, but this past week, I have had the joy and privilege of working the crossing at Cambridge Rd for your Mooroolbark campus. Today is my last day at this crossing as I was only temporarily stationed there, but I have had a good experience, so much so that I wanted to write a letter of appreciation/thanks to the school and students currently attending. The job of a School Crossing Supervisor, as I have discovered, definitely has some perks including connecting with the local community and students. Only being 24 myself, this week helping the VCE students cross in the morning and afternoon took me back to when I was doing VCE and what a rollercoaster that was! If I could (without all these restrictions in place), I would have loved to come in, in person, and give a few words of thanks and encouragement to the students, but in these times, email is as good a method as any. However communications are made to the student body and the staff, I wanted to pass on this short message: To the students who have gone through the Cambridge Rd crossing this past week, thank you for your warmth and words of thanks, it was a pleasure to help you get across the road safely, even on the freezing cold mornings. To all the VCE students working hard during these difficult and strange times, keep pushing on! Youre smashing it out and getting close. Do your best in all your assessments and exams, but remember that at the end, whatever score you get is the best you did and something to be proud of, it is also just a number and not the end if its not your desired score. Im sure all of you will do your best and have bright futures. To the staff, you have an amazing group of students in your capable hands who you are helping to achieve their goals and Im sure youre all proud of their efforts. Its been an absolute pleasure assisting with the safe crossing of the students of your school. Best of luck with the rest of the year if Im not back at that crossing. Kind regards, Nick

02.01.2022 Looks like things are a bit more relaxed this time around for Remote learning 2.0, with a bit of help from some furry friends!
02.01.2022 Dear Mooroolbark Campus Parents and Students, As indicated in our Compass post on Friday, St Peter Julian Eymard Primary School parents will amend their queuing practices before and after school to try and help address the traffic jam occurring in Reay Road. Please see the diagram below where the Yellow arrows show the flow from the Cardigan Rd direction, through the church car park. (Please note this amendment applies to SPJE parents only) The Red arrows show the usual righ...t turn still required into Reay Rd when approaching from the roundabouts direction. This should see significantly less cars on the uphill approach to Yarra Hills in Reay Rd. Both of their queues will converge in upper Reay Rd for the final (Blue arrow) portion into the primary school grounds. We still advise our own parents to avoid entering Reay Rd and our school grounds at all if possible and drop off/pick up from somewhere a short walking distance away. Most secondary students are more than capable of walking 500m or so to a more suitable area nearby. Your support with this would be greatly appreciated. See more
