14.01.2022 Hello everyone, I had intended to send an email wishing you all a very happy Easter but I have left it a bit to have to hope that you have enjoyed Easter instead. I hope that you're not only coping in these difficult times but have found ways to use the unexpected spare time productively and enjoyably. Time is too precious for just coping.... In case any of you had intended to visit the Club for any reason this week please keep away from the green as I have sprayed it today. This needs to be done every three months, (according to Berrys), to prevent moss and lichen growth. The social isolation rules arrived so quickly that we didn't have time for a break up lunch and I didn't have a chance to congratulate you all on the past season's results. The Weekend Pennant results were very good. I'm sorry about the finals loss but it would be hard to improve on the "home and away" results. The six-a-side Midweek results were also excellent and they missed the finals by the smallest of margins. The Midweek twelve-a-side results saw Yarra Junction climbing the ladder towards the end of the season after a very slow start. The results were in part affected by serious illnesses during the season to some key established players. We all hope that those affected have recovered and will be back playing again next season. I believe that the improving results as the season progressed were in no small part due to the rapid improvement of the "first season" players. Well done all of you and thank you for your hard work and enthusiasm. When things return to normal I think that the future of Yarra Junction Bowling Club looks very promising. There are several "novice" social members who have stated that they want to be full members next year and also some very good established bowlers have shown an interest in joining us. The corona virus has cast doubt over many aspects of the Club's affairs. As far as the next AGM is concerned provisions have been made for meetings to be delayed. The Club's fee structure for next year cannot even be considered until B.V. and E.R.B.R. sort out affiliation fees, and goodness only knows when that will happen. We will of course keep you informed as events unfold. Don't forget that if any of you need help, especially in these rather troubled times, someone in the Club will be there for you - you only need to ask. I am looking forward to playing a game of bowls with you again before TOO long. Ian.

12.01.2022 It's great to be back on the Green but we have to follow these rules. Love these autumn days.

09.01.2022 After what has been a lengthy and arduous task, we’re pleased to provide the final draws for Midweek and Weekend Metropolitan Pennant, for season 2020/21. ..., will your club be competing? Find out here: bit.ly/3kspfsb Special Note - ALL VIC CLUBS: BV has been advised via VicSport that 'Clubhouses can now open (this includes non-licensed premises), as the Restricted Activity Directions no longer stipulate that they are required to be closed. We are however discouraging people from congregating in clubhouses to socialise, and encourage windows to be opened where possible to increase ventilation'.
