21.01.2022 We love seeing what your children are doing and creating at home. We are using photos, emails and conversations to keep the connection between home and kinder and use these to continue documentation of childrens learning. Sebby made this beautiful and creative Nature Mandala. His favourite part is the acorn in the middle.

16.01.2022 We had a bit of a treat this afternoon in Aftercare. We had a video call with Felix and his new handler Lee Ann in Perth. The children had a couple of questions for Lee Ann about how Felix helps her, and told her about the training they do with Mimi, but mostly they were excited to see Felix.

10.01.2022 It has been so fantastic to be back at Bush Kinder. It is looking very lush and green after all the rain we have had lately, and there is a new big tree stump for the children to play on. The children have found some really interesting little creatures who also share our space. Last week Michael found an Orange Legged Centipede. This week Ben, Leo and Harry found a very impressive Leopard Slug and a Southern Armyworm moth. They have all been added to the field guide we have compiled over the past few years.

Some of the children have watched it at Yarralea and wanted to share it. https://www.abc.net.au//bedding-for-birds---nesti/12806528 We have also made a different one at Yarralea that the birds were already using by adding materials.

06.01.2022 Today Mel played a great game with the Gurrborra children! The Hide and Memory game is a very easy game to play at home and siblings can play it together. You simply find objects from around your home (about 5-6 to start with) and a piece of material. The players look at the objects and try to remember them. The player whos turn it is to be in charge covers them and secretly takes one away and then reveals those left. The other players have to guess what is missing!! You can make it more challenging by adding a greater number of items and hiding different amounts of objects. Have fun!

06.01.2022 Look who Jen & Shannon saw in one of the nesting boxes in the Darebin Parklands. Walert fast asleep. Thanks to Ranger Kate for pointing him out. As well as some ducklings with mum & dad.
