With all 3 senior sides in finals contention, keep your eyes peeled for a big finish to the 2020/21 home & away season. With the 1's and 3's at home this week and the 2's away, who's going to be the one to step up and drag their side over the line?... Go Yarras.

23.01.2022 D.C.I Property Services PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RD3 - HAYDN BOWERS The Dos continues to bamboozle. After what was already a strong start to the season, Haydn Bowers claimed what could be the first of many 5fa's this season with a match winning 5-17 off 7 overs yesterday.... Defending a modest 119, Haydn and the 2nd XI rolled through Laburnum for just 55 to claim their 3rd successive win of the season. With his wicket tally sitting at 11 after 3 games, watch this space as Haydn looks to go even bigger and better next week. Go Yarras.

22.01.2022 MILESTONE DAY We’re all set here and the 2’s are batting with the 1’s bowling Go Yarras.

19.01.2022 T20 TEAM SELECTION - RD 1 T20 cricket is set to resume tomorrow and we are excited to announce the Yarras are fielding 2 sides this season. Our Mulgrave Country Club Shield team will feature your regular Yarraleen favourites and with Lochie Pane set to lead the troops tomorrow plenty is sure to happen.... We would also like to welcome our second T20 side, who will play in the Rebel Sport Shield and will feature a team full of brand new members to the Yarraleen Cricket Club. With both sides playing at Bulleen Park tommorrow, venture down and enjoy a Tuesday night of action packed cricket as the next gen Yarras begin a new chapter.

18.01.2022 PRASHAN GUNAWARDHANA - 100 GAMES Playing your 100th game in your 1st game as 1st XI captain isn’t the worst way to bring up a milestone. Congratulations to Prashan Gunawardhana who will today bring up his 100th game at the club. Whilst his sheer volume of wickets suggest Prash has been around for at least 600 games, over the last decade Prashan has been one of, if not the most important person to the Yarraleen Cricket Club.... His impact both on and off the field cannot be truly appreciated and so we wish Prashan the best today as he brings up a special milestone for the Yarras. Go Yarras.

17.01.2022 ANGUS DULLARD 1ST XI DEBUT With a late out in the 1's, Angus Dullard is set to make his 1st XI debut on the back of an impressive 40 last week. Go well Gus.... Go Yarras.

17.01.2022 RD 2 TEAMS Just have a look at that 2nd's side The weekend is already off to a good start with the 3rd XI securing a forfeit win.... With the 1's and 2's both at home this week, we are set for a massive weekend as we celebrate 4 milestones at the home of cricket. Go Yarras.

16.01.2022 CHILLI BRINGS UP 300 Our 2nd XI fixture this week is going to be a special one with 4 milestones set to take place as the Yarras take on Vermont at home. Our first and biggest milestone is that of Chilli's 300th game.... A loyal clubman and fierce competitor Chilli has stuck by Yarraleen through thick and thin, forming an integral part of the club over the last 20 years and beyond. Whilst his number speak for themselves - 3rd all time leading wicket taker (484 wickets) and 16th all time leading run scorer (3235 runs), Chilli's impact on the Yarras could never be limited to mere statistics. As a cricket club we have always prided ourselves on celebrating our people and this week we couldn't be prouder to celebrate one of our own as he brings up a special milestone. All the best Chil, Go Yarras.

15.01.2022 200 WICKETS - PRASHAN GUNAWARDHANA Another day, another milestone for Prash. He's had plenty of me time lately but credit where credit is due Congratulations to 1st XI skipper Prashan Gunawardhana who brought up his 200th Yarraleen Senior wicket over the weekend as he led his side to victory with a dominant 3/11 off his 8 overs.... Prash now moves to 17th in the all time leading wicket takers for the Yarras. Go Yarras.

13.01.2022 CHILLI GETS 500! Congratulations to David Chilcott who yesterday picked up his 500th wicket for the Yarraleen Cricket Club. A cornerstone of the Yarras in a now career spanning across 3 decades, Chilli's 4 wicket haul yesterday takes him to 503 wickets for the Yarras, good for 3rd all on the all time leading wicket takers for the club.... With Gary Jordon's 507 wickets now in sight, a big last round for Chil could even see him move up to 2nd in the all time leading wicket takers, an accolade fitting of a man who has contributed so much to our great club. Go Yarras.

13.01.2022 PAUL BOYES - 100 GAMES The marathon man clocks up 100 for the Yarras! Unfortunately we couldn’t chase up a more recent pic of Boysey as he was getting in the 5th of his 7th weekly marathons but don't let that detract from tomorrow's huge milestone.... Since joining Yarraleen in 2011/12, Boysey has become a much loved and integral member of the Yarras. Featuring prominently in our 1st XI across the 2010's Boysey also proudly makes up part of the 2016/17 3rd XI premiership winning side. All the best Boysey, go well tomorrow. Go Yarras.

13.01.2022 RD 1 TEAMS The teams are in and some new faces are set to make their Yarraleen debuts. Firstly, we’d like to welcome Callum Chilcott to the First XI. Continuing the famous Chilcott bloodline at the Yarras, in just a few sessions Cal has already proven as more than worthy of a spot in our First XI... We’d also like to welcome, Lachlan Powning and Henry Sweeney to the 3rd XI who are set to make their debuts under the guidance of the evergreen Michael Bowers. We wish all the teams and captains the best for the weekend. Go Yarras.

11.01.2022 Cricket is back! With cricket set to resume over the coming weekend, a reminder to all to continue doing the right thing in keeping the community safe. Go Yarras.

11.01.2022 D.C.I Property Services PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RD2 - JOE AMAD No stranger to being amongst the runs for the Yarraleen Cricket Club, Joe Amad showed his class in his 150th game for the Yarras, compiling a run a ball 59. In a star studded line up, Joe guided the Yarras to a healthy 8/184 well aided by Kots 29(32) and Modders 42(32).... With a 184 first innings total proving plenty, milestone man Chilli finished the job claiming 2/29 along with Haydn Bowers helping himself to 2/25 off his 8. Joe himself managed to snare a wicket adding to his 59 with the bat but a special mention goes to Xavier Cromie who after sub fielding for the 1st XI, came onto bowl and walked away with his 1st senior wicket. Go Yarras.

10.01.2022 D.C.I Property Services PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RD1 - PETER KOTSIRIS Captain Kots does it again. Leading the 2nd XI for the third successive season, Kots once again stepped up to the plate and delivered what proved to be a match winning 68. ... Ably supported by Angus Dullard (40), Dante Vesnaver 36 and Dave Ienco (35), Kots and his charges posted a first innings total of 7-236, enough to lead them to a much welcomed Rd 1 win. Go Yarras.

10.01.2022 TEAM OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER With the first month of cricket now wrapped up, take a look at our Team of the Month. Who deserves to be there and who was stiff to miss out?... Go Yarras.

09.01.2022 2020/21 REGISTRATIONS OPEN GO TO WEBSITE TO REGISTER: http://yarraleencc.com.au To the Yarraleen community,... The Yarraleen committee for season 20/21 would like to welcome back our members for the forthcoming season. Needless to say that it may be a slightly different season, in many different ways. As a committee, we have been working on a plan throughout the year while waiting for the green light from the Victorian government. As it currently stands, it looks like we may be able to gather in groups of 10 outdoors as of October 19th or sometime thereafter. The BHRDCA has given clubs a start date for a return to play for all grades, including juniors, of November 14th. All senior grades will be a 14 week season consisting of 14 one day games, each team playing each other twice. In light of the reduced season, the committee has decided to reduce subs across the board. Registrations are now open! Please see attached further information. Currently the club is working through a COVID safety plan, as well as a training plan which is covid compliant. Details and expectations of all members will be published, and promoted on all our social media platforms in the coming weeks, so please read them to understand what is required to keep us all COVID safe. The grass is lush, the nets are open. The home of cricket will be home and open again soon. I can almost smell the BBQ in the air! We look forward to seeing you soon. Fergs

05.01.2022 2020/21 SEASON COUNTDOWN Having already far surpassed the bowling ability of his Dad, the Yarralen Cromie legacy is in safe hands with Xav. Make sure you catch him and the under 14s in action from tomorrow night, 5pm at Bulleen Park as cricket gets underway for 2020/21.... Go Yarras.

05.01.2022 We hope you’re all staying safe and well. While we can’t bring you any live cricket action over the weekend, have a crack at this weeks edition of the ‘Yarra Quiz’ Go Yarras.
