18.01.2022 Good Evening Everyone, Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our school community. As you would be aware, there have been a number of additional positive cases of COVID-19 in South East Queensland over the weekend.... Yesterday, the Chief Health Officer announced a range of measures to manage the situation resulting from these additional positive COVID-19 cases. I encourage you to keep updated and ensure you are aware of these changes. As you would be aware, immediate action and effective communication to those within the community is essential when a positive COVID-19 case is identified. New restrictions in parts of South East Queensland: The LGAs listed below have been declared Queensland COVID-19 restricted areas and gatherings in private homes and public spaces are restricted to a maximum of 10 people. Brisbane City Local Government Area (LGA) Ipswich City LGA Logan City LGA Scenic Rim Regional LGA Somerset Region LGA Lockyer Valley LGA Moreton Bay LGA Redland City LGA These limitations do not apply to businesses operating with a COVID Safe plan and, as mentioned above, do not apply to schools due to their exemption status under the relevant Health Direction. Other parts of Queensland: All residents in other areas of Queensland are restricted to gatherings with a maximum of 30 people in private homes or public spaces. These limitations do not apply to businesses operating with a COVID Safe plan. These restrictions on gatherings do not impact on our ability to continue to provide an educational program for all of our students. I encourage you to remember the key actions that will prevent the spread of COVID-19: -stay home if you are sick -if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested -stay 1.5 metres away from other people think two big steps -wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser -leave a location if it is crowded If you have any concerns about your health, contact your doctor or contact 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) as soon as possible. Your continued vigilance in monitoring your activities to reduce the spread of COVID-19 is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Kurt Rose Principal

09.01.2022 Dear Parents/Caregivers I am writing to inform you that I decided to restrict access to H02 Storeroom in H Block (Drama Barn) due to damage caused to the north eastern elevation wall. The school’s Built Environment Materials Information Register (BEMIR) indicates that... the wall sheeting may be made of fibro, which may contain asbestos. Repairs and a professional clean are to be undertaken. These precautions will ensure that all students and staff are kept safely away from the area. As you would be aware I take the issue of student and staff safety very seriously. I believe that the partnership we share as a school community means that it is important to keep everyone informed in order to minimise concern. Please do not hesitate to contact me on (07) 4173 7333 if you have further queries on this matter. Yours sincerely Kurt Rose PRINCIPAL
