25.01.2022 BEDGGOOD MEMORIAL RELOCATES IMPORTANT INFORMATION Due to unforeseen circumstances Melbourne Speedway Kart Club have had to change the venue for our season o...pener scheduled for 17th Jan 2021, this event will now be run at Avalon Raceway. We understand this is not the ideal situation prior to an upcoming Victorian Title, but as a committee we feel it is important to continue racing, we can't thank Avalon Raceway enough for allowing us the opportunity to kick start our season. Round 1 nominations will be carried over, If drivers wish to remove there nomination we ask you please contact us immediately. Further to this our 4 Civil Solutions Victorian Title at Laang will remain unchanged, with nominations closing on 18th January which is now less than two weeks away. 25.01.2022 FRIENDLY REMINDER :):) Please make sure your club membership and Speedway Australia license is up to date. Your Speedway Australia license is invalid without a current club membership. Yes we are being optimistic, we are hoping for 'some' track time in this shortened season - but please don’t leave it to the last minute. 19.01.2022 Interested in becoming a Steward, Scrutineer or an Offical or curious to see what’s involved - check out the Speedway Australia Online Training. Also a reminder to all current Stewards, Scrutineers and Officials that to renew your license you will need to do this training as well.

18.01.2022 Hi Speedway Karters ! We hope you are all staying safe and keeping well. As we close the end of a very short 19/20 season - a reminder that YVSKC memberships will expire June 30th. Please find attached Season 2020/2021 YVSKC Membership form. A reminder that your Speedway Australia licenses are not valid unless you are a financial member of a club.... Please message if you would prefer this form emailed to you. DRIVERS: as per correspondence from SKAA - your current 2019/20 log book is valid for the 2020/21 season. Validation stickers will be attached when the season starts. We look forward to seeing you all again in the dirt !!

13.01.2022 *END OF SEASON POINTS* All the Covid-19 craziness & restrictions drastically shortened our usual race season and unfortunately resulted in the club only being able to run 3 club points meetings for season 2019/2020. Round 1 Nyora 5.10.19 / Round 2 Drouin 17.11.19 / Round 3 Avalon 1.12.19. With the low club points meetings and all the current restrictions sadly it means that we will be unable to hold our annual end of season presentation awards night. ... We thank all drivers for some bloody fantastic racing over the shows we were able to have and for supporting our club. We would like to congratulate the below drivers who finished in the top 3 season points placings ... and in recognition, we will be sending out an awards plaque to you soon. 04.01.2022 WHAT’S IN THE ‘KIDS TO GRIDS’ BEGINNER LEVEL? With the launch of the new Kids to Grids website, we have seen a fantastic uptake in the amount of youth and paren...ts utilising the platform. It’s important for all clubs and venues to promote this new FREE service to any youth as it will ease the workload for volunteers handling new drivers at events. If you haven’t had a chance to look through the program, it is divided into three tiers, each focusing on different aspects of the sport. The most important level is that for beginners, which will help speed up the learning process and knowledge base of rookie drivers. Topics in the beginner level include. Program introduction Licensing & memberships Race gear Flags & Raceceiver’s Driver fitment Speedway terms & keywords Track conditions Basic car control The role of parents Respect for coaches First race meeting guide In addition to the above topics, there is also the ability for the competitor to select a ‘class specific controls’ video (as seen in the photo) relevant to class they’re driving. This shows them the very basic controls and things to be aware of when operating their race car or kart. Competitors are also able to go back and complete multiple of these if they race more than one class. Just in case you’ve missed it, the KTG program is now available via www.kidstogrids.org QUICK NOTE If you are promoting the program to parents of your competitors, please also give them a quick note to make sure they use the child’s name during sign up. If not, it will affect the name on their certificate when completed. Of course, parents are encouraged to also use the platform either shadowing their child’s progress, or separately.
