07.01.2022 Here’s some Saturday afternoon teamwork for you! We were called to assist Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police at 4pm today for an injured motorcyclist on the... Maroondah Highway north of Fernshaw. With a steep embankment making access difficult, we were joined by additional rope rescue crews from CFA (Country Fire Authority), Victoria State Emergency Service and Fire Rescue Victoria. Together services worked to set up a rope system that ensured the patient could be brought up to the road as safely as possible, before being transported to the waiting helicopter. Police closed the road at Narbethong and Fernshaw to allow rescuers to work safely, and we thank locals and tourists alike for their patience during the extended closure. The road reopened shortly after 7pm, and crews returned to refurbish their equipment and prepare for their next jobs. Marysville SES would like to extend our thanks to all responding crews who turned out to this job for their teamwork today - no matter the colour of our uniforms, we work as one! We’d also like to wish our patient all the best for a speedy and thorough recovery.
