22.01.2022 Throughout the pandemic, Yarrawonga Health has been especially lucky to have Brandy our Stores Coordinator in our team. Brandy is responsible for managing supplies of our everyday orders as well as the added demand and supply of PPE during the pandemic. Brandy says Maintaining PPE supply, first through bushfire threat then quite literally overnight into a pandemic has been a challenge to say the least. It has been stressful at times, but has also provided moments of pride and satisfaction in being part of a team totally dedicated to the health & wellbeing of the local community. Thankyou Brandy for caring for our community through Covid-19.



21.01.2022 What an amazing community we are in Yarrawonga/Mulwala! Every year YH coordinates the Pay it Forward Christmas Appeal and this year we thought things might be more difficult than usual because......2020 . We are happy to say that we were proven VERY wrong! This year we had more partners and community groups participate, more volunteers bring their muscles and wrapping skills, more donations from individuals and businesses and most importantly we were able to provide Christm...as cheer to more families than ever before! In 2020 there were 80 families including 170 children in our community who received food hampers and individualised presents which were all donated by the community and individually chosen for their age group. 20.01.2022 The State Government has advised that from 11.59pm 1 January 2021, Victoria will close its borders to New South Wales. Anyone who has been in or visited the Blue Mountains or Wollongong regions from 27 December will have until 11.59pm tonight to enter Victoria. You must apply for a new travel permit through Service Victoria, get tested within 24 hours of returning to Victoria, and self-quarantine at home for 14 days from when you last left the region. Under the changes, any ...Victorian currently in the Green Zone will have until 11.59pm tomorrow night to enter Victoria. Details are yet to be confirmed on a process to allow border communities to be able to travel in between NSW and VIC. Any Victorian, regardless of where they’re arriving from in New South Wales, will need to get tested and then quarantine for 14 days upon arriving VIC. 17.01.2022 After a submission to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation Yarrawonga Health has received the ‘Rad 5 Machine’. This piece of equipment is a pulse oximeter used to measure oxygen levels in the blood for newborn babies. We would like to thank the Humpty Dumpty Foundation for this important piece of equipment.

Patients utilizing the Urgent Care Centre are assessed by nursing staff and are triaged according to the severity of their presenting problem with the most urgent cases always attended to first. 14.01.2022 Yarrawonga Health advises the community that the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services confirmed this afternoon that a resident of Moira Shire has tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus). NCN Health have released via social media tonight that a Cobram resident presented to GV Health for testing and is self-isolating. All follow up contact tracing is being immediately undertaken and anyone who is identified as being a close contact are also being asked to self-isolate. YH reminds the community that if you have any cold or flu symptoms no matter how mild i.e. fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or loss of sense of taste, call 03 57438132 to arrange a test and to self-isolate until your test results are returned.

14.01.2022 While covid-19 restrictions ease, it is still vital we all do our part and keep our physical distance from others. When out and about, please remember to set an example for those around you by keeping at least 1.5m away from others when waiting for takeaway, going for a walk or when at the shops. This is our best defence to prevent further outbreaks and clusters of coronavirus.

09.01.2022 CURRENT VISITOR GUIDELINES Please note our visitor guidelines for Acute patients and Aged Care residents are currently as follow: ACUTE - All Visitors are booked through YH Centralised Visitor booking service. - Visiting hours are strictly between 2pm 7pm.... - Each patient can have one (1) visitor, once (1) a day, for up to two (2) hours a day. AGED CARE - Visiting hours are strictly between 9:30am - 11:30am and 1:30pm - 3:30pm. - Strictly NO visits between 12pm - 1pm - 1 household visit per day. - Visiting is restricted to two (2) visitor per residents room. - Visits are restricted to 2 hours per day.

07.01.2022 CONTROLLED VISITOR ENTRY POINTS Yarrawonga Health has moved to limit entries across the organisation to better protect our patients, residents and staff. If you would like to visit a resident in our Aged Care facilities or a patient in our acute unit you will need to book in ahead by phoning 57438565 at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a visit. All visitors will then be required to report directly to Entry 2 for screening prior to visiting a patient or resident. Speech pathologists help with; speech, language, voice, fluency, reading and spelling as well as eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. 02.01.2022 We would like to say a big thank you to Racheal and Mekaylah from the Ignite Life Church for their generous donations to the Homelessness Support Service at Yarrawonga Health. These donations have allowed us to purchase a number of swags that we can provide free of charge to our homelessness clients. A swag is a very valuable resource to have in the Homelessness field. To be able to offer a swag to a man/woman or young person who is homeless and has no other options is a powe...rful thing. Finding a safe and affordable home is the ultimate goal for our clients. This donation will enable us to immediately provide swags to those in need and these people are always very grateful. Swags help to keep people warm and dry and have the safety feature of being made from fire-retardant material. Referrals for anyone needing support in Yarrawonga and surrounding areas are through the homelessness entry point BeyondHousing on 5722 8000. People can also call the 24/7 Statewide Homelessness Service on 1800 825 955.

Their staff are specialist family violence workers, and can provide comprehensive support, information, safety planning and assessment for callers to the service. Rainbow Door offer one off support, as well as short term case management to assist callers navigate systems and be linked in with the support they need.
