17.01.2022 "My wine making philosophy is simple - let the grapes speak for themselves. This means I spend as much time in the vineyard as I do in the winery. Grow them with natural fertilisers and build better soils . Carefully nurture the fruit through the wine making process to allow them to express their vintage, their location, their variety. I intervene only when necessary, using a gentle touch, and looking to create balance and harmony. I prefer using the indigenous yeasts of our vineyard and winery, adding complexity, and highlighting all aspects of our terroir." Fiona, Yarrh Winemaker. 14.01.2022 Yarrh Wines sits across two north-facing ridges overlooking the valley of the Yass River, on Ngunnawal Country. Our 6ha vineyard is split into two sections, the old blocks and Misery Ridge (that’s a bit of a story for another day), now over 20 years old the land continues to improve and grow with us. Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese have all found homes here, with some Fiano on the way. Each takes on an expression uniqu...e to our vineyard. Most wines are made with wild ferments (no added yeast) to further enhance our unique terroir. Our aim for a self-sustaining farm, has seen us introduce many practises that have helped our soil come to life and the vines to sit in balance in their environment.
